Have you turned off your television ?

Featured Replies

I did. I spend more time watching youtube and picking the stuff I want to learn about rather than accepting their programming shit into my head .

Have you seen enough murders ,cops solving crimes ,fake relationship behavior , biased news in favor of a certain political party , being told what to think . Commercials that are always trying to get you to buy buy buy. Newscasters asking for you to trust us , we are here for you , yet all tow the line . No independent thinking ever shown or other views , only their views . Have you finally seen it is all just brainwashing ? Seeing what you want is more desirable for me then the crap they put out , how about you .

There isnt one tv show I look forward to watching and it is only rarely that I stumble across something vaguely interesting. We get all those cop/lawyer shows too and I couldnt bring myself to sit through one. Maybe they are good but I never watched one right through. My missus used to watch all the CSI's where almost every cop is a gorgeous 30 something stunner.

The news here is just the news but on the commercial channels they take up a lot of the news time promotiing some shit talent or reality show thats on the same channel and trying to make you believe it's important.

I watch

Football

Family Guy

American Dad

and the lotto

and thats that

:P

I only watch CSI Las Vegas , never did like CSI Miami years ago it should have been called "David Carusoe killing people with a gun ". That would have been a more appropriate name for the show .

Except for CSI Vegas , that's the only show I watch with a script that actors read . But getting tried of that one too . I watch Survivor and Amazing Race and football on Sunday . Its the script that I hate and the meme behind it . Time to check and see if I won the lotto on the computer . When not surfing you have to get out of the house too . Once I get to Thailand , the free time can be spent walking all around , taking pictures and making videos , pictures sent via email to daughter and grand kids and family and post videos on youtube private channel for them to watch .

Breaking Bad was very good. I think there is half a season to go once it starts again.

i dont even have cable. and when i did i would watch it 2 -3 times a year!. MAX. i watch more tv in thailand then here in the US. LOL. fuck TV. life waster imo.

its BETTER to be PISSED OFF then PISSED ON!!!..

I have not turned on a TV for about a year and a half.

I'm on my Mac most of the time watching YouTube or the occasional TV series.

For my mental health I had to turn the shit off .I can't tolerate lies and propaganda .Turned it off before I would have thrown a hammer at it . I'm on the same page you are .

The power of youtube is if there is anything you want to know , you can find it there . Fixed broken cable on passenger window in my SUV ,couldn't figure it out till I saw a video how to do it , fixed rollers on sliding glass doors , just about anything , think about something , cooking , gardening , juicing , philosophy , educational videos , search it and you get answers , why waste time with TV , you are not getting anything out of it but bull .

Boardwalk Empire is produced by Scorcese, it is a very good gangster show set in the prohibition era... it's on hbo, and pretty darn good...

I have directv and it has a magic button that blasts through commercials, so when I watch any shows on commercial tv, I no longer have to suffer the bullshit being slung at me... homeland is good, so is Breaking Bad, that's probably my favorite show...

couldn't agree more with the OP on the incredibly biased and agenda driven news, it is atrocious, and barely even denied anymore by the various left and right leaning networks... journalistic integrity is a thing of the past, it is all manipulation and agenda driven...

Brainwashing is the government game at controlling me and I am paying for it anyway.

If you watch TV you are proof you prefer be a slave.

Yes, I am third class citizen but at least I understand it.

wow, thanks oldfu... I enjoy watching some things on tv, had no idea I "prefer to be a slave"... I work hard, play hard, and enjoy movies and other content being offered... I also read novels, I like stories... what's the difference between a story on tv and a movie? and a book?

if you are referring to the news and commercials I would agree totally, but that is not "tv", that is some of the content that is there, but definitely not "tv"... I am totally capable of not watching any news or commercials... I record the shows I like and zap the commercials if they are on commercial channels... never watch live shows because I detest the commercials.

got you have an opinion, thanks for sharing it...

Lets call brainwashing " DISRESPECT " .

If your woman constantly lies and try to manipulate you and spits in your face daily and pulls your hair out to wipe her ass , if you even have a little bit of the male genes , you will eventually leave her and say I don't have to put up with this shit no more . The equivalent of this concerning your TV is you turn it off , your saying I am not going to take this shit anymore. Congratulations your a man . I don't know what the stats are for women turning off the tube , but i would guess it's very low . Young kids playing video games is better then the disrespect on the TV .

From 6 to 9 pm EST I listen to Tom Leykis LIVE at blowmeuptom.com , good man talk listening during the prime time TV disrespect hours . His 3 or 4 hour show is then replayed until the next live broadcast . He's on now .

I use torrent sites these days instead of watching telly!

Just download the programs I like and watch them when I get time! it's great because you get no adverts either!
