Thai airways new president wants to turn a loss(baht 10 billion in 2011) into profit by increasing thai quality and hospitality on their flights.

"Passengers must feel the quality when boarding a THAI plane. The ambience, greeting, food and services must be of authentic quality".

 

Sorajak Kasemsuvan(president of Thai airways): "After spotting a shower in Emirates' first class cabin plus a maid who always keeps it clean during an observation flight, Sorajak now plans to introduce Thai traditional massage to |first-class passengers on Airbus A380 flights to main destina-tions like Paris, Frankfurt and London".

with it being only a first class option, I would bloody hope it's all in the ticket price for a happy ending!! LOL

Trying to figure out how a Thai massage would work on an airplane, even in first class. Not exactly something you could comfortably do in a seat, even if the seat can lay flat. It would also be a little strange to be contorted in view of other people as well.

Well, he's definitely doing something right.

We flew Air Canada coming over, and the last leg was Thai airways.

Cattle class, but what a difference.Air Canada food was mushy crap with 3 different types of starch, and glop for dessert.

Thai Airways had beautiful smiling stews, and genuine by God Cutlery! I almost fell outta my chair when I saw actual metal eatin' irons. The food was damn good too. Veggies just a hint of crunch, good sauce, and our choice of pork or chicken.

Thai are just too expensive now, they were my carrier of choice for over 20 years, but they have taken their eye off the ball!

I used to take that New York to BKK flight. Long flight (17 1/2 hours) but the entire travel time was shortened because of removing a layover in either Japan or Korea. As for the massage, They decided to do this because an Emirates flight had a shower, Wonder why they didn't decide to add a soapy instead of just traditional Thai massage?

seriously they are old enough to want to make you give up your seat and let the granny sit down and take the weight off...

 

then you realise how much you paid for the damn thing.

 

downside of moving staff through the cabin with length of service rather than ease on the eye.

 

anyway, if its granny massage think i will still with business...the chance of a lawsuit if a granny breaks a bone massaging a passenger is simply not worth it.

Flying Thai air , Brisbane to Bangkok in 3 weeks time, first time with Thai air for me , I'm interested to see how it compares to Singapore airlines... Business class flights . Only trying them because Singapore air was booked out for the Bris-Bangkok leg

Have to agree. The oldest stewardesses works in first.

I have no problem with it as the smile and friendliness still are there.
