Speaking of the illegal fireworks arrest, Sheriff Vichai said the Amphur Sri Racha is an industrial area with many oil factories. So the sales of explosive materials such as fireworks and lanterns are prohibited in the area, because of the potential for widespread damage from accidents.

The arrest was made after a police investigation revealed that illegal fireworks were being sold to teenagers at the Bai Teuy minimart at 218/1 Moo 11, Tambon Thoongsukhala, Amphur Sri Racha. Police officers restrained the owner of the shop and fined him and seized the fireworks for evidence.

Pol. Lt. Col. Tharathep said that the police inspections and raids of shops that smuggle and sell fireworks illegally is carrying out the policy of the National Police Bureau office. During the Loy Krathong festivities, police departments will crack down on illegal fireworks because of the danger to lives and the property of people.
