UAE Airlines to BKK from USA, Emirates/Etihad

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Been a longtime US airlines flier but seeing that upgrades are harder and harder (and more expensive) I have decided to try some other airlines. I gave Asiana a try and it wasn't bad. Service was better than United/American but was quite crowded and didn't like the departure times.

I want to give a UAE based airlines a try. I fly Emirates on the A380 to HK and it is very nice.

Anyone have any suggestions on which airlines to try from USA to BKK and if any have any deals going? I was thinking Emirates or Etihad.

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Also is a stopover in Dubai worth the time?

Cheers,

Zero

I like Korean, but depends where you start from.

I've used both UAE carriers and find Qatar by far the best choice from the east coast through the Middle East, at least in business class. Wonderful flat-bed seats, professional cabin crews, and the best lounge on the planet for the connection. The timings are good, too, and the connections both ways right at two hours.

Where in the US do you live?

I fly from Bangkok to Houston (return) twice a year. I always fly Qatar or Emirates. I find that in April or October to be the cheapest rates (1200-1500 USD). Also the nicest planes for this route, considering all the other airlines. I Used to fly Delta, United, etc... But now I don't even give them a look. I try to use Emirates most of the time, because the Airport is better in Dubai. It is also just one stop. BKK - Dubai - IAH. It is usually an A380 between BKK and Dubai.

Like other posters have said the USA is a big place. Last summer Singapore were doing some good deals.

I normally fly out of Chicago, Dulles or New York...

  • 4 weeks later...

Looking at flights now for an upcoming trip I am planning. The travel time is just ridiculous from Florida. I know it will be worth it in the end.
