China airlines

Anybody traveled business class on china airlines please

Quite a few years ago on an old 747 from Amsterdam. Wasn't in the least impressed. They have upgraded these old craft and I'm going to try them again on 7th December. I know it won't be as good as Singapore or others but I got a ticket for £1340 ish and think it might be worth it. Having done a little research I get the impression that if you are a regular business class traveler you'll be disappointed but if it is a cheap ticket and you're used to economy you will be happy.

Thanks it cost £200 more so I thought it would be worth it

If it is £200 more than economy, which was the case for me, then I think it will be worth it. If I fly economy I pay for business lounge access and that is free with a business class flight, that's £40 saved. Fast track immigration at BKK and 10kg more luggage are useful bonuses for me.

Anybody traveled business class on china airlines please

Has anybody had experience of flying on economy class from Amsterdam to Bkk ?

Cheers

Travelled Business class with China Airlines earlier this year AMS-BKK return, Z Class ticket, price i got it for was around 150 GBP more expensive than the cheapest economy ticket i could find with any other airline.

My personal opinion would be i highly recommend this airline, business cabins have all been upgraded, seat was comfortable, service was good and entertainment system good quality as well.

i am a frequent flyer so i have used many airlines and China Airlines was one of the more pleasant flights i have experienced.

Flew Amsterdam - BKK in business on Sunday and it was well worth the extra money.

Many times. What i like about is the arrival time in Bangkok ( early in the morning ) Onboard service ok. Not sure if the finished their

refurbishing program already on the old 747-400.

Next year i try Finnair Amsterdam- Bangkok with short stop in Helsinki. Much cheaper as China.

Like many airlines, they will treat you better if you are a member of a frequent flier program. So make sure you quote your Skyteam number when you book.

I fly CA economy. The accommodations suck, but it's the cheapest available.

summer 2012,

BKK - AMS

Business Class. Not a flat bed. Slept OKish but kept sliding down the chair.

Plane was totally full. Was worth it. Refurbished 747 (i noticed economy had personal TVs)

AMS - BKK

Economy class. Un-refurbished 747, no personal TV, seats bit hard. Luckily half full flight - so had a row of four seats.

Got better sleep than in business class.

I think by now all the planes should be upgraded.

Previously, refurbed planes were doing N.American routes and you had only 50% chance or so to get a refurbed plane on AMS route.

i tried once this compagny on economy : AMS TO BKK 747 - 200 combi ( in service since 1989 i think )

crew seems ok ,friendly / food medium / arrived in bkk 30 mn in advance / this plane is old no ptv , old seat /

BKK TO AMS : one of the engine had a problem ( doesn t want to start , all the bkk china airlines staff waiting under the plane , iwas not serene :Surrender1: ) , delay one hour

I have flown with them a few times and they are ok. But I would not rate them for food or service I call them the Ryan air of long haul no frills. But nearly always the cheapest and when you are paying for a wife and kid its always price for me lol.

Regularly fly business class with them for work

If I had a choice, I would not use them (even more so if I was paying out my own pocket)

The air hostesses barely speak English and have never met one that speaks German. For business class travel, I expect better

It is not the most cost effective airline even in China.
