A few days ago, the "Tim Boutique Hotel" changed it's sign to the "Intimate Hotel".

 

To me, it sounds like a really unfortunate choice in names... like a short time Love Hotel or something. Does it make you think of "close acquaintance or familiarity; cozy, fostering a warm or friendly and informal atmosphere; secret places: an intimate hotel" or "sexually/physically intimate"?

 

When I need to give my contact details to my coworkers / family, I'd just feel weird if I told them that I'm staying at the "Intimate Hotel"... especially if I'm going alone or meeting up with another mate...

 

Thoughts? Many it's just my guilt from mongering that's clouding my interpretation...

The name is really bad but this is just marketing after a renovation of the lobby and around the pool for this place open about 6 years ago, too many hotels have boutique in the name even Tim boutique is a true boutique hotel, initially used for place up to 50 rooms and Tim offer exactly 50 rooms. Tim bar, on second road, with some rooms, also change the name recently in Fourteen again, also a strange name, maybe a new original owner of both place !

Tim is getting old and her son is taking ower both places so probably his idea to change the names.

Tim and Maew(RIP) has been in the bar business for 35+ years and one of few that made a fortune in this kind of business.

They have realy worked hard and have a lot of loyal returning customers.

Is this name change 100% done deal and is it in place now?

I mentioned to the reception that it was a bad idea... but, their English seemed a tad limited, and I don't think they really understood what "intimate" meant even after I explained the word...

 

I can't imagine any of them even thinking of passing along the word. sabai sabai.

At least there won't be any questions in the minds of customers about whether the place charges a joiner fee with a name like this.

Yeh, turn in that expenses count, or tell your wife back home, that on your business trip you stayed at Intimate Hotel and dined at Cabbages and Condoms., and likely your last trip.

Does Tim Boutique Hotel (or now I guess it's called "Intimate Hotel") have any restrictions on the age of the girls you can bring to your room (aside from the obvious & appropriate restriction on under-age) ?

 

I just read in another thread about Areca Lodge Hotel's restriction ... as I understand it they won't allow you bring in "guests" 18 and 19 years-old. Areca also apparently charges a "joiner fee" if you bring back more than one girl at a time.

 

So.... can anyone please comment on Tim Boutique Hotel? I am thinking about cancelling my reservation at Areca and switching over to this hotel. I'd like to know about "joiner fees" and any age restriction on 18 & 19 year-olds.

When you walk in the door, the doorman/reception will motion for her to come over and show her ID, but just wave them off, shake your head, and bring her straight to the elevator.

 

In the afternoon, they might ask you for your room number as you walk in, but just reply "no problem" or something.

 

They're totally fine with it, and I figure it improves the atmosphere a bit... Plus, you get to avoid that annoying phone call from reception to ask if everything is ok when the lady goes to pick up her ID on the way out.

They were doing a lot of work on the entrance when I was there a month ago, quality hotel, crap name but up to them, I'll definitely stay there again, great supersize bed, great hot water pressure, lovely staff and great location.

True... I think it depends on whether you're pretty sure that you can trust the lady.

 

I usually spend a couple of hours getting to know her, and bringing her around to different bars that know me pretty well, before I bring her back to the hotel.

 

I'd never bypass the ID check for ladies I met in a club or beach road...
