Police Seize Obscene Sex Toys In “Big C� Shop

The “Pattaya House of Condom” shop in the Big C shopping center on Second Road was raided by the police, who grabbed adult toys and sexual aids including fake male sexual organs. The shop owner has been arrested twice, but each time paid the fines and reopened her shop for the lucrative revenue.

PATTAYA – November 23, 2012 [PDN]; at 8 p.m., the police raided the “Pattaya House of Condom” shop and arrested the owner. The raid was led by by Pol. Capt. Arnon Infong, Deputy Inspector; and Pol. Sub. Lt. Warakorn Bannasit, Deputy Inspector; and a police team.

The raid had been ordered by Pol. Lt. Col. Rattha Prathumkaew, Deputy Superintendent, the head of the Center of Protecting Children and Women and Subduing for Human Trade, section 2.

The sex shop is located on the second floor of the “Big C” Central Center department store, second Pattaya road in North Pattaya, Moo 9, Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

The raid was ordered after police learned that the shop owner had smuggled and was selling fake sexual organs. Police arrested the shop owner, identified as Ms. Sophawan Jaiphakdee, age 22, from Amphur Bangnampreaw, Chachoengsao province

Police searched the shop, and found fake electric male sexual organs and obscene materials, including a lot of drugs to motivate sexual emotion, without permission from the FDA. Police kept the obscene merchandise for evidence, worth more than 50,000 THB.

During questioning, Ms. Sophawan confessed that she had operated her shop for a long time. Most of her customers were foreigners, both male and female. But her customers also included Thai women and ladyboys.

The suspect had ordered her sex products throught the Internet and paid with a bank account. Ms. Sophawan has previously been arrested by the same police team twice. But she paid the fine each time, and came back to sell the goods again because she got good revenue.

After their initial investigation, the police restrained Ms. Sophawan with the evidence and completed the arrest report. The suspect was then sent to the investigation officer of Pattaya police station to prosecute further according to the law.
