A 29-year-old Russian man got into a fight and stabbed two Insomnia bouncers after being ejected from the Walking Street nightclub. All three fight participants were taken to Pattaya Memorial hospital. Police searched the Russian and recovered a pocketknife and a bag of marijuana.

PATTAYA – November 22, 2012 [PDN]; at 4 a.m., a report of a nightclub-related stabbing that injured two people was received by Pol. Maj. Col. Kriangkraiwut Buakla, the detective officer at Pattaya police station.

The incident occurred in front of the “Insomnia” nightclub in the Walking Street “Safety Zone” project area in south Pattaya. When police arrived, the victims had already been taken to Pattaya memorial hospital.

Police went to the emergency room, and found the foreigner and the two Thai stabbing victims, who work as bouncers at the nightclub. The foreigner was identified as Mr. Pavel Bobrakov, age 29, from Russia. He had a head wound and bruises on his body.

The stabbing victims were identified as Mr. Anusorn Sophakul, age 33, who was stabbed below his left knee; and Mr. Danai Keeranan, age 29, who was stabbed on the left side of his abdomen.

Police searched the Russian’s body and seized a pocket knife and a plastic bag of marijuana, which they kept as evidence.

After investigating, police discovered that Mr. Pavel had gone into the nightclub and was behaving badly, so he had a problem with the security guards who were controlling the inside area. So the guards took him out of the nightclub and they got into fight. Mr. Pavel then took out his knife to threaten the guards. The guards tried to control him, but the Russian man stabbed them.

Mr. Pavel has not answered or talked to the police yet. The police will question him after both sides have been treated by the medical team and have sufficiently recovered from their injuries .

The Russian also faces an initial charge of possessing a Class-5 drug (marijuana).

Good way to fuck up your life. Some might say that his mistake was stabbing the bouncers but in my opinion his mistake was putting a knife in his pocket as he walked out the door.

 

There are too many of these stabbing incidents and that can only mean that there are many guys walking around with knives in their pockets. If any BM’s make a habit of carrying knives then think about the consequences. It isn’t a bright idea.

Tell me why in a place like Walking St at a big place like Insomnia there can be a fracus with multiple stabbings, a ambulance (I presume) is summoned to cart everyone off to hospital . How come no cops turn up until the victims and the perpetrator have been carted away ?

In a small area like Walking St nothing should escape the attention of the police.

There should be many more on duty there every night.

Let me see, bouncers eject Russian and release him, probably throwing him onto the ground and step back to the door. Russian is unhappy, reaches into pocket, grabs knife, turns around and attacks bouncers. What are you suggesting the bouncers do stand there while getting stabbed? If someone attacked me with a knife that is a very good reason to fight back.

 

I don't know what happened, however that is one story that fits what we have been told, which is not much. I'm sure there are many other explanations too, painting the Russian as the villian, or the Thais.

 

Making a blanket statement that they both should be charged, and that there are no good reasons for a fight shows a lack of imagination.

Looks like Insomnia ran out of vodka.

Anyone know of a news photo of this mad Russian? I had a similar major altercation with a Russian last year at Heart of Darkness in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Name sounds the same.

yep im a big believer in "if you have it, you'll use it" when it comes to carrying anything with you, i say put this russian scum away for 15 years in a thai prison, dig a hole up in the jungles and toss him in it
