A Year Ago – Remember This?

Now that the disaster of Thappraya Road might finally be drawing to a close,  at least as far as covering the dirt with tarmac goes,  I thought a look back to how the road was in December 2010 and January 2011 might be interesting.

Certainly looking at these photos,  great progress seems to have been made (for Pattaya), but when looked at over the course of its SEVEN year life, it's still a joke, with much unfinished business, although that has not stopped the crap commissioners from dumping all kinds of official (usually pointless) junk along its length already.

This was the Thappraya/Pratumnak Road junction in January 2011. Why they didn't just leave a traffic island there and not bother with the lights is anyone's guess.

In November Jomtien Second Road near the Hanuam Statue looked like this - a Cambodian dirt track.

By December it had started to take shape.

This was the state of the Second Road/Thappraya Road junction near the Hanuman Statue a year ago.
