I'm hoping to spend about ten days in Pattaya during January. I will spend very little time in my room. I'm looking for something clean and guest friendly with a room safe. From my research I think I would rather hang out near beer bars or near jomtien beach. Any adivce would be helpful.

I guess Billabong, Drunken Duck on LK Metro should suit your needs. Alternatively you could consider hotels near soi 7, 8, for proximity to beer bars.

As a 1st timer, I would reccomend a hotel that checks ID, to avoid ladyboys, underage, and any problems you may have - which you are definetely more prone too as a newb

There are many but finding availability is going to be a problem, try to book somewhere at least for a night so you have chance next day to find somewhere.
