British Consulate Jomtien

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

As we are all aware the British consulate in Jomtien will be closing at the end of November the last two days open are next Wednesday and Thursday and then all services will be dealt with by the British Embassy Bangkok including income verification letters and Affirmation to Marry.

According to the statements people from Pattaya and Chonburi will have there needs dealt with in the same day and not have to go back the following day for pick up!!

After talking with the powers that be, please take this advice, the Embassy consulate section is only open Mon to Fri 8.00am to 11.00am so make sure you get there early and demand same day service

Secondly take something to show you reside in the chonburi area as verification to prove were you stay so you have something to show them if they do not wish to give you back same day.

Also on my link http://www.keyvisathailand.com/british-consulate-pattaya-to-close/ it has the statement from the Embassy stating same day service so print and take with you or get from the British Embassy website.

The reason I am posting this is I do not wish you to go all the way to Bnagkok to be told come back tomorrow because I can see it happening so lets get a step in front and pre empt a situation!!

Are there plans to close down any other british consulate offices in other ares in thailand?

No Chiang mai will be staying open,

It is a joke, thy are appointing a Honory Consul for Pattaya but he will not be doing the tasks of old, he will just be going around hospitals and the prisons and saying hello.

Don't think he will be putting the Barry Kenyon hours in or giving any consul document services.

I hope the Samui office survives the cuts too.

I am sure it will, there is no word from the powers that be that any other consulate will close, hmmmm

Makes you think doesn't it, why close the busiest and most profitable consulate????

I love to read between the lines.
