Fugitive Russian Pimp Caught Living In Pattaya

A 29-year-old Russian tour guide in Pattaya is being deported back to Russia, to face charges of running a prostitution ring that included minors. The suspect had fled to Thailand in 2010 to escape prosecution. He settled in Pattaya, where he married a Thai and fathered a child.

The arrest of a Russian man working in Pattaya for child prostitution charges in Russia was announced at press conference at the Immigration Bureau in Suanplu, Bangkok.

Making the announcement were Pol. Lt. Col. Phanu Larpkerdpol, the commissioner of Immigration Bureau; Pol. Maj. Gen. Montree Protranan; Pol. Maj. Gen. Shisanupong Yuktatat, vice commissioner of immigration bureau; and the consul of the Russian embassy.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Constantin Avdoshkin, 29 years old. He was arrested under the power of Russian court on the charge of forcing children into prostitution. Police arrested the suspect at the Central Plaza Pattaya, Nongprue, Banglamoong Chonburi.

Pol. Col. Gen Phanu said that the Immigration Bureau had been contacted by the Russian consul in Thailand, requesting that they arrest Mr. Constantin on charges of forcing minors into prostitution.

Mr. Constantin is alleged to have run the prostitution ring in Russia with Mrs. Karina Mulina, who procured Russian females for sex servicing. If any girls wanted to quit, she was required to pay them 50,000 rubles (50,000 baht).

If the female resisted, she would be beaten and shocked by electricity. Some of the prostitutes were also minors. The prostitution ring operated between 2005 to 2009 in Kazan, Russia.

Then Mrs. Karina got arrested, and the officers fired a warrant to arrest Mr. Constantin. But the suspect escaped to Thailand in 2010 on a tourist visa. Mr. Constantin later had a Thai wife and a child, and worked in Pattaya as a tourist guide.

Mr. Constantine has denied the charges against him. He said the Russian police made up the charges in order to extort money from him. However, Thai authorities cited his expired visa to extradite him back to Russia.
