Crooked Cambodian Ladyboy Caught by Russian On Beach

A 44-year-old Russian tourist caught a Cambodian ladyboy trying to yank his gold necklace from his neck. The Russian and his friends had been accosted by a trio ladyboys on Pattaya Beach offering their sexual services. The Cambodian was held for police, but the other ladyboys ran away.

PATTAYA – November 19, 2012 [PDN]; at 12:10 a.m., a report of a tourist catching a ladyboy trying to steal his necklace was received by Pol. Maj. Seksan Reuvate, Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province. He went to check the scene with a police team. The incident occurred at Pattaya beach opposite to Soi 12.

At the scene, police found the victim, Mr. Samvel Vagradyan age 44, nationality Russian. Mr. Samvel and his friends, as well as several bystanders had together assisted to capture a ladyboy trying to snatch his necklace.

The ladyboy was identified as Mr. Ji age 33, nationality Cambodian. The ladyboy was good looking and very much resembled a woman. The police arrested the suspect and searched in his handbag to find any other illegal items.

Mr. Samvel told police that he and his friends were walking on the beach, when they encountered Mr. Ji and another two ladyboys, who were loitering around. The trio of ladyboys then offered to sell sexual services to him and his friends.

While the ladyboys were caressing them, Mr. Ji tried to pull off Mr. Samvel’s gold necklace that weighed more than 2 THB. But Mr. Samvel resisted and grasped the arm of Mr. Ji to capture him. Meanwhile, the other two ladyboys fled the scene.

After his arrest, Mr. Ji, who spoke a little Thai, told police that he had smuggled across the border into Thailand and had been living in Pattaya a long time. Mr. Ji confessed that he really tried to pull the necklace off the Russian, who sensed the theft and grasped his necklace back. So Mr. Ji tried to run away but he was captured, although his two ladyboy friends escaped.

Mr. Ji also confessed to previously committing several similar thefts from tourists. The police also seized a Samsung mobile phone that Mr. Ji threw away at the scene. Mr. Ji also confessed that he had just stolen the phone from a foreigner two days ago, and he had bought an SIM card to install in the stolen phone to use.

The police took Mr. Ji to the Pattaya police station to prosecute, and charged him in an accusation of illegally entering Thailand, and trying to snatch and run away with someone’s property. Police will investigate further to track down Mr. Ji’s ladyboy friends in the same gang that escaped to prosecute them according to the law.
