Samsung’s Walking Street – fur coat and no knickers

Many family visitors to the New International Family Resort of Pattaya gawp in astonishement  as they promenade  on Walking Street,  when they encounter the tawdry, tatty, cheap sight in front of them.

We are of course referring to the Samsung sign, which, to many of Pattaya’s visitors and residents, represents the worst piece of corporate-sponsored garbage in the city.

Ugly, cheaply built and totally unnecessary, this screen, like much else in Pattaya, flatters to deceive.

It took months to replace the missing "E".

In fine Pattaya two-faced fashion, the sign is all fur coat and no knickers; its brazen face gaudily touting for customers (for the advertised businesses on its ridiculously bright screen) up Beach Road, whilst the back end of it tells a different story, of want and unfinished business, in the side viewed by the millions of users of Walking Street each year.

Surely something less ugly, and sending a less damaging subliminal message could be done with the Walking Street end of this Samsungtravaganza.
