Afraid of losing his gorgeous young wife with “movie star” looks, a 20-year-old drug dealer from Chachoengsao jumped out of a police vehicle taking him to court and successfully escaped. His wife had threatened that if he was in jail too long, she would not wait for him and find another husband.

CHACHOENGSAO – November 16 2012 [PDN]; at 10:30 a.m., a suspect in a drug case jumped from a moving police transport vehicle and escaped custody while being taken to the courthouse jail. The escape occurred at the junction of Klongprawes, moo1, Klongprawes, Banpo, Chachoengsao.

The Bangpakong police detail transporting the prisoners stopped to search for him. Among the officers involved in the search were squad leader Pol. Maj. Capt. Phuwitchapong Sukjai; and the vehicle driver, Pol. Sen. Serg. Maj. Kamnueng Tabtimsuk, the squad leader of the suppression division.

But the police did not find the suspect, identified as Mr. Maprao Tinthaworn, 20 years old. Mr. Maprao had been arrested for selling 15 tablets of meth, and had been caught by entrapment, said Pol. Maj. Capt. Weerapan Somin, the detective in charge of the case. The suspect was being transported along with several other prisoners to the jail at Chachaerngsao provincial court.

Police questioned the other three prisoners who had been riding in the shielded police vehicle with the suspect. Two had been arrested on meth charges like the escaped suspect. The other prisoner, who had a disabled leg, was arrested on marijuana charges.

The two meth users said they had been handcuffed together as group with the escapee, since they faced similar charges. One of meth prisoners told police that it seemed like Mr. Maprao was moving his hands back and forth, but he could not see what Mr. Maprao was really doing at the time, because he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt.

Then suddenly Mr. Maprao pulled his hands out of the handcuffs. It looked like because he was so slim, the police had not locked the handcuffs on his wrists tightly enough. This allowed him to eventually slip free of the shackles.

When the police vehicle stopped at an intersection at the red light, Mr. Maprao jumped from the vehicle. He escaped fast, and nearly got hit by speeding cars from Muang. But the cars skidded to a stop when they saw the prisoner, and he escaped into the roadside and disappeared.

The prisoners in the police car thought that Mr. Maprao may have injured himself from jumping from the police vehicle, because he hit the ground and ran limping into the forest. When the prisoners saw him escaping, the marijuana user cried out loudly in surprise. So the police in the vehicle saw Mr. Maprao running away. They stopped and searched for the escapee, but could not find him.

As for the reason for his escape, police believed Mr. Maprao did it because he was afraid that his wife would have left him and found another husband if he had gone to prison. His wife was very beautiful like some movie star, and she had come to visit him once at the police station jail.

During her visit, police officers overheard them talking. His wife was telling Mr. Maprao that if he was going to be in jail too long, she would not wait, but would go find a new husband. So Mr. Maprao shot back that if she found another man, they had better go far away, because he would kill them both.

20 years old? Where she at?

No doubt the 'Movie Star'' wife will be making her first appearance on the silver screen soon in the next edition of thai teens, after moving to Pattaya.
