Pattaya police detectives arrested a Nigerian man for drug dealing. The suspect was arrested in front of the McDonalds near the Walking Street entrance, and police seized 5.5 grams of ya-ice. The man said he mostly sold his drugs to foreign tourists in Pattaya.

PATTAYA – November 15, 2012 [PDN]; at 7:30 p.m., the arrest of a drug dealer on Beach Road was announced by Pol. Col. Thammanoon Munkong, Superintendent, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province; along with Pol. Lt. Col. Kiettisak Sathongoy, Deputy Superintendent; and the detective police team.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Akabuaze Zerey Jukuameka, age 30, nationality Nigerian. Police seized evidence that included a mobile phone and 5.5 grams of ya-ice.

Pol. Col. Thammanoon Munkong said an investigation by Pattaya police revealed that a foreigner had smuggled drugs to sell in Pattaya, so he commanded Pol. Lt. Col. Kiettisak Sathongoy to mobilize forces to pursue the case.

The police team sent an undercover agent to make a purchase of ya-ice from Mr. Akabuaze. An appointment was made to meet in front of the McDonalds near the entrance to Walking Street. When the suspect showed up to deliver the ya-ice, police hiding nearby came out to arrest him.

After his arrest, the suspect confessed to buying ya-ice from a Thai supplier, and primarily selling the drugs to foreign tourists in Pattaya. The police initially charged the suspect with possessing a Type-1 drug (ya-ice) for selling and distribution, and sent him to the investigation officer to prosecute further according to the law.
