Be prepared to find another light beer in Thailand as Singha Light has been discontinued.

There are beer with lesser alcohol than Singha Light, nor is there any other at 3.5%.

Tiger Crystal (Light) is 4.3%

Chang Light is 4.2%

Many places are out of stock now.

As of a week ago Secrets had a stash still available, but give it some time that that too will come to an end

I think there is another that is 4%

Why do you say NO?

Drinking 2 Singha Light in Thailand is like drinking 3 beers at home for OP.

You may not believe this, but there are people that like to drink beer, but prefer to consume as little alcohol as possible.

I am one of them as I have come to learn that sex is so much better when you consume less alcohol.

Something that light will have little or no taste , may as well drink soda

That would reflect your taste, but not necessarily that of others.

to drink a light beer in my country is a choice" 2.25%" i happend to like it as i´ve said, not soda, cola, cola light, cola zero, coffie, latte, cappochino, expresso, doubleexpresso, americano, black, black with milk,w sugar,2 sugar cubes, wipped cream.

so i like it and that´s just why i ask.

and belive or not that when i´m drinking with my friends in LOS and they try Sing light many of them like it,,,, cause they´r not pissed drunk.

I used to drink something endorsed by Ian Botham at 1% alcohol (Dansk?), if cold it's not too bad. However, not good to start with but ok to finish with.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I've never looked but can you get de alcohalized beer in los ?

I said NO because I was trying to answer his question. To put it more simply for you I will extend my answer. No I have never seen a beer less than 3.5%

My bad, I thought you were answering your own question in the same post: "Is your home beer at 2.25 or a 3.5 going to make any difference?"

No problem, and yes when you look at it like that my answer was probably confusing

Hi MrDK,

"Singha light has been discontinued"

Has the brewery announced this or is this just what some of the bar staff are saying?

I was in Pattaya about 4 weeks ago and was told by a couple of bars that it was hard to get or the supplier had run out of stock, but my usual bar seemed to have plenty and said there was no trouble getting supplies?

Would be interested to know, but I will be back in 3 weeks so will find out then I guess.

I will b back in 2 weeks, hope they still have singha light, and i will go try find something else a little less in alc, thanks for reply

It was discontinued by the brewery because of limited market (farangs) and it was deemed that production capacity was better spent on regular Singha Beer.

It stands to reason that the first sign of the discontinuation is that is is hard to get and supplies (one after another) run out.

As of a couple of weeks ago it was still available in Secrets, but with some likelihood that also will be no more.

Villa market ran out of both 33cl cans and bottles 3 weeks ago, but still had the large bottle 2 weeks ago.

It will soon be the end everywhere.

Wow...regular Chang and Singha are already plenty light for me, I drink IPAs back home! If you want a really light beer, drink Leo like the girls do...it's more like flavored water than beer, haha...

Maybe, but its still 5% the same as Singha.

If the beer is not brewed in an ASEAN country the taxes will price you out of the market.

Guys, I'm fairly certain the 'light' refers to the number of calories and not the strength/alcohol content. ie San Miguel light is 4.5%, same strength as any other beer.

Pattaya is like enjoying yourself -it's not for everyone.
