A Russian tourist was apparently drugged and robbed by a Laotian transgender in a Walking Street guest house. He was the second victimized tourist that night. Earlier, an Australian had collapsed on Walking Street after also being apparently drugged and robbed.

PATTAYA – November 10, 2012 [PDN]: at 5:50 a.m., a report of a drugged foreigner in a Walking Street guest house was received by Pol. Maj. Col. Sombat Kaewmulmuk, detective officer of the shift, Pattaya police station. He rushed to check the scene with a police team and a medical team from the Pattaya Memorial hospital. The incident occurred at a Walking Street guest house at 98/14, moo 10 Nongprue, Banglamoong, Chonburi.

Police arrived at the scene at room 31, on the third floor of the 4-story building. The semiconscious victim was lying on the bed, wearing only shorts. They were not able to discover the identity of the man, who was about 25-30 years old. The dazed tourist was rambling and talking incoherently and could not answer questions. The medical team gave him first aid and sent him to the hospital.

Police checked the room and found 2 bottles of beer and 2 bottles of water. They also found the ID card of a man from Laos, as well as a cell phone than contained a picture of a transgendered woman. The police assumed the transgendered woman was the criminal who had left her cellphone behind on the dressing table. Police kept the cellphone for evidence.

Police questioned the guest house staff. They said that at about 3 a.m., the Russian tourist had come with the transgender to rent a short-time room. They identified the transgender as the same person whose picture was on the cellphone.

After they were in their room awhile, the transgender came down the stairs, and told the staff that she was going out to buy some food. But over an hour passed and the transgender still had not returned. So the staff went to check the room, and found the Russian lying unconscious on the bed. Staff members tried to wake him up, but he did not get up. So they immediately called the police.

After checking and asking the witnesses, the police completed the daily records for evidence. The police will accelerate their investigation to track down and arrest the transgender who committed the crime to prosecute immediately.

When the Russian victim recovers, police will question him thoroughly for details and what property of his might have been stolen.
