I was thinking it would be cool to go to Cambodia for a few days. Anyone know a easy and some what inexpensive way to get to Cambodia from Pattaya? I have my Filipina gf with me so we wlll be going together. Would like to stay over in Cambodia a few days and let her do some shopping there. I am trying to get her passport to have a few more stamps so I think that would a cool little trip. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

If you examine the Cambodia sub-forum you will find much useful information there.

You can google for "yellow bus" and find there the times coaches depart from Pattaya to Aranyaprathet. The bus station is on North Pattaya Road, about 200m from Sukhumvit on the right. Tickets are about 250 Baht one way, and sold on the website, or the counter in the bus station. Or you could ask any visa agent who offers visa runs to Cambodia, that would include the visa to Cambodia, and no hassle at the border. Might discount a little because you go one way. Different border crossing, at Pailin.

Try the hell visa run bus- Good luck. I fly to Phnom phen but in the old days when I couldn't afford it I always used wherever possible trains as they are safe, more noble and more comfy. So maybe short public bus to BKK. Train as far as you can towards Cambodia then public bus from there..............Sounds fun?

If you are heading for Angkor Wat near Siem Reap then Aranyaprathet / Poipet

is the border to head for.

If you are heading for Sihanoukville then Trad / Koh Kong is the border to head for.

I can recommend Koh Chang Travel for the latter as they will pick up from your hotel in Pattaya

and take you to the Trad / Koh Kong border.

There is also a regular bus service from Sukhumvit Road / Pattaya Kang (central pattaya road)

which runs from Bangkok to Trad stopping in Pattaya at early hours like 6am 7am.

This is the cheapest way.

Do purchase a Cambodia visa online for $25 at mfaic.gov.kh.

It saves a side in your passport and a lot of fiddling around at the border.

Do not get scammed by the website http://www.visa-cambodia.com/ and other similar web sites,

which offer a Cambodia visa for $10.

Phillipene (spelling) people do not need a visa for Cambodia.
