Does anyone know if any licences or permissions are needed for a Thai national to sell food on the street in Pattaya?. My gf wants to set up a food stall. Cheers.

wouldnt think so, if say u want to set up outside a certain building u make a deal with landlord / owner and pay him a fee per month. good luck to her

May be there is no license for that business required, at least there is tax registration necessary. Usually any business need a license. To make sure if there is license needed or not it would be better to ask the Provincial Excise Office, the local city hall or provincial hall. It's the office where business licences can be obtained.Licences are issued for a period of 12 month, but in any case end on December 31.

Girls, guys and couples, no matter straight or bi, who are looking for traditional partners, swinger, groups, 3somes, and a variety of other alternative partners are invited to join our community: http://www.getlaidinasia.com

These kind of business doesnt need a license Only a deal with the landlord where you place the stall like "Asiasun" told.

you are lucky ur gf asking a street food stall. Otherwise most of the gfs ask for begger things.

I would think that the main issue will be the other traders in the area, if she encroaches on their pitch there will be trouble.

Also, I cannot believe that there isn't some sort of "fee" due to local police, council, heavy mob.

She tried asking "other traders" but all tight lipped.....not a word

i am almost sure, but even a noodle stand would need a licence to avoid the bib.

For a Thai like your lady a license is easy to get and would cost only a few baths.

So i would not worry about it as a license is easy to get for anything for Thais, they just go to to the right office, pay the fine and license is your.

Your a lucky man, that your lady ask for a food car to work.....or...next week your house is full of family all helping to make your girls business run....

Good luck

On Soi Six in 2007 I purchased a few skewers of pork from an older thai lady and as she was bbqing them she looked up the street, told me she'd be right back and then took her whole cart down to beach Rd, returning in about five minutes. Don't know what that was about, but figured it was likely due to some sort of license issue, whether official or not.

Location, location, location is critical if the (common) dream is to come true.

i know for a fact that some food stalls make decent money,  girl sells fruit ,  works from 7am to about 9-10 at nite,  makes around  1000-1500 everyday,  her husband told me that,  hard work for her but some beer bars arent even making that kind of money  lol

I am not sure if it is true or not but i was told that on the 6 they must keep moving, they are not allowed to stand. Now it is a bit difficult to sell and prepare stuff while driving so they of course do stop. But whenever they see police coming they will drive around the block, even when in the middle of an order, to return a few minutes later to continue as nothing happened.

Yeah seen a couple times the stall owners drive off into an alley on Soi 6 when ur waiting for them to make ur food.
