Hehe, I'll ask the girl who wrote it then. Probably pressed wrong symbol or something like that. :)

the ๚ symbol is used in Thai to mark the ending of a chapter in a book.

Maybe she used it at the end of a letter or something?

This special symbol is used as an abbreviation sign, for shortening very long words and is then called "payyaannoy", but when repeated it could be best translated as "etc...", and it's then called "payyaantay"

5 is pronounced 'ha' in Thai... So 5555 means hahahaha. In other words laughing. :)

On the nail. for example

มหาวิทยาลัยจุฬาลงกรณ์ = Chulalongkorn University

มหาวิทยาลัยจุฬาฯ = Chula University

New to me about the "repeats" meaning etc but I guess would make sense.

I think people are getting their symbols mixed up a bit :D

ๆ     - repetition symbol: มากๆ = maak maak

ฯ     - abbreviation symbol: กรุงเทพฯ = Grungtep (mahanakorn blablabla)

ฯลฯ - symbol for "etcetera": อุบลฯ อุดรฯ ฯลฯ = Ubon(ratchatani), Udon(tani), etc.

๚     - symbol to mark the end of a chapter or a long paragraph (which is pretty rare I think, haven't seen it used before, unlike the others)

Allright, thanks for the answers...

She wrote: "Hi !๚๚๚!my " and then continued by my nickname.

So it probably means nothing or an extensive 'Hi' :)
