The BG’s featured on the Website were nowhere to be found. Maybe two or three average BG’s looks like they had some cute girls before by the look of it but not now.

 

Features:

Air conditioner, Ceiling Fan, Room Safe (small), Wi-Fi (FREE, excellent speed, reliable), LCD TV(cable channels Fox, BBC, Aust TV, Sport, Aljazeera etc), DVD Player, Jug, Coffee, Tea, Toaster, Microwave, Bar Fridge (mini bar size), Glasses, Cutlery, Bowls, Plates, Soap, Ensuite Bathroom , Downstairs Bar with Pool table (with BG’s close 2-3am), 24hr Family Mart and 7-11 90 sec walk away, Soi LK Metro has any number of Ago-Go’s and Beer Bars, 100 Baht breakfast at Billabong Guest House on corner is probably the best value in Pattaya.

 

No lift, bathroom floor slippery, LK Metro Karaoke NOISEY!!!!, pull left shutter up if Bar closed, must press panel for hot water to work, you need to leave ‘Clean Room’ card out for room service, sink plug leaked so difficult having a shave, do not expect five star service it is a Guest House

 

Details:

Nice sized room and quite comfortable. Touch of Thai decoration which I like.

 

General street and Bar noise is no problem for me but the birthday bloody Karaoke hire till 3:15am is a ‘deal breaker’ for me. If you’re a light sleeper cross LK Metro off your list and head up to Soi Chaiyapoon / Soi Lenkee. If your partying till dawn, no problem. It isn’t every night but seems to be at least twice a week.

 

A BF was in the bathroom for 10 minutes then came out because she couldn’t make it work. I forgot to tell her to press the Panel on the water system. Then again it could have been the thought of a ‘liaison’ with me and she needed the time to muster her courage.

 

There was a poster of the King and Queen on the second floor corridor which is fine, problem was it was crooked. Crooked stuff drives me insane. Eventually it got the better of me and I went to straighten it to find it was ‘Tech screwed’ into place. Who screws a poster to the wall and crooked at that?

 

The room was great, facilities fine, staff ok, location excellent, downstairs Bar does not have the ‘buzz’ of say The Rock House or Flanders Bar next door but if you like to keep to yourself and relax it is fine. Would I stay there again? No. Nothing to do with 3Som Guest House but people screeching out of tune into Microphones till 3:15am in the morning celebrating birthdays, pass. Seems like a fairly decent place, but i am a bit of a light sleeper myself. I've stayed on soi lk and it's fine for lots of reasons, just the noise gets to me as well.

I stayed there new year 2009, it was the cheapest place I could find at the time and it was 500 bhat a night. I thought the staff were lovely and friendly but imo the rooms were a bit tired. For 800 bhat a night, I certainly wouldnt stay there unless I had no other choice but thats my opinion, not saying I didnt enjoy my stay but 800 bt a night is expensive imo.

Personally, I like to be near LK Metro, not in LK Metro - Pattaya Bay Resort is normally where I hang my hat, tho with the recent building work?

After looking at your photos, I would say that the rooms at The Rockhouse next door represent better value.

 

Totally agree with you about staying on LK Metro....it's just too noisy now.

Agree The Rockhouse is good value and bigger rooms and good vibe in the Bar.

 

It isn't so much the street noise its that bloody Karaoke till 3:15am that did me in lol.

 

I couldn't sleep so had to shag the BF all night then when she got jack of me shagging her I got bored lmao.

I was speaking to a really nice American guy staying in one of the 'rear facing' rooms he was saying the birthday Karaoke kept him awake all night too.

 

ok 'rear facing' rooms are 7 , 4, 1

 

I have a question mark on Rooms 5 & 2 not sure if they face the street or not.

 

Rooms 8 , 6, 3 face the street.

 

The normal street noise is ok for me it is just the 'birthday celebration' Karaoke set up outside the Bars and they crank the bloody thing up.

I second that, Dan's a top guy and quite the character. Hardly ever see him in the bar these days though. he must be busy chasing beautiful thai women around and being a hansum man. :-)

ok, i stayed in room 1 and 4 before, and i found that it was quiet enough for me to sleep. I stayed in irish rovers and travelers rest before with a room facing soi LK and that was a lot more noisy. But hey, thats only my opinion, i never try to go to sleep on vacation if im not feeling tired. :-) So much other use for that bed when you are in Pattaya :-D

I have stayed here twice, once for 3 weeks and another time for several night, good quality rooms for the money and noise was never issue for me.
