What Is With All These White Males Smoking Cigaretts in Pattaya ?

Not talking about the bars - I dont have to go in bars. But everywhere there are white males smoking : along the beach, the smoking ghettos in front of the supermarkets. all the sidewalk cafes. In the condos and apartments. There should be a law against it. Its not like having a drink, because the drink is not forced down the throat of non drinkers.

IMO this is postworthy since the cigarette smoking percent of white males in Pattaya seems extraordinary.

You should appreciate the fact that they are smoking out there because inside the bars, restaurants, shopping centers smoking is not allowed. OK the bars cheat a little bit but do you see anyone smoking in the shopping centers or restaurants, not likely.

i agree i hate the smokers.. but its next to non-exsistent in thailand compared to north america so i find its a nice break, very rarely does a thai smoke and if they do they are usually westerized trash.

i dont mind people smoking as long as they dont expect to smoke over me, its their choice to poison themselves and i dont mince my words if they are rude enough to light up in my breathing space

 

in insomnia the bar staff kept bringing others to fill our table, we were spending well and ordering drinks every 10-15 minutes so it wasnt us being cheap, there was 2 other tables half full like our table and they never took people to that table once(which i pointed out) i didnt mind sharing a table with people but i refuse to share a table with a smoker, so when asked if we minded i'd ask, do you smoke? if they said yes then we minded...i got some bemused looks from the smokers, fuck knows why and in the end had 2 loveley hip-hop grils share the table that were non smokers

 

other time i had some twat light up a ciggie on the bus next to me wee daughter, he got told where to go, same as the russian that tried to get into a 3x3 lift with me smoking a ciggie

 

it amazes me that these people think it's acceptable to blow their smoke and make you a part of their own selfish and filthy habbit

Couldn't agree more and anyone to objects to someone smoking outside should be tied naked to a tree on Beach Road and fucked by a ladyboy or 10

No I am not a smoker now but used to be years ago so l say live and let live perhaps there are some habits or things we all do that some people may object to.

 

You may not believe this but there are actually some people who think paying for sex is immoral and we are somehow exploiting the girls when in fact as we all know the opposite is more more likely the case.

 

Go to just about any village in Issan and see the houses some of these girls have had built for them and the pick up trucks or cars.then tell me who is exploiting who.

I gotta agree with the OP. I have just spent two weeks in Pattaya and it seems to be the last bastion of smokers. I think the OP is referring to “white” males as opposed to the Thai’s which seemed the case but to be fair I associated with farang more than Thai men so my comments are skewed.

I don’t care if you kill yourself but blowing smoke into my face is as offensive as pissing on me. I don’t think I saw any bars that enforced the Non-Smoking bans in Pattaya. If I went to a bar I refused to sit near a smoker and if smokers sat near me I usually paid my check biun and left. Only once at Windmills when I was enjoying myself did I push the point and explained to two young guys that I didn’t smoke. They moved.

 

On one occasion, at Nightwish bar I found that there were smokers at every table. I moved outside but the airconditioning blew secondhand smoke to the front door. I ended up in a coughing fit and paid my check bin and left.

 

OK , no loss to the bar , i’m not a heavy drinker but there are some who are.

 

Generally I chose not to create conflict. I think it is up to the bar owners but they let us (non Smokers) down.

 

If smokers want to indulge then that is up to them but they have a duty to make sure they don’t inflict their habit on other patrons. Same as I make sure I don’t piss on you when sharing a urinal.

I smoke and often around non smoking friends. I'm sure it is tolerated rather than enjoyed however I always try and seat myself where the smoke can be blown away and if there are fans running then on the down wind side.

 

I personally think closed up A/C areas should be smoke free but open bars and areas and the great outdoors should be fair game to everyone.

Ever been to indonesia? 80% of guys smoke there and a hell of a lot of females too. What about china? They smoke while they eat and spit on the floor inside restaurants.

 

My friends black and he smokes like a chimney.

 

Smoking is a nasty smelly habit but is not really a big issue in pattaya.

I can't believe you can complain about smokers and not about drinkers! As a non-drinker I have to endure many drunken acts of moronic behavior, the smell of stale ale everywhere and the fact that drunk people stink of alcohol! I'm sure if you measured the facts of what costs the NHS more in England, drinking related events would far outweigh any smoking related illness!

 

I do not believe that people should have silly RULES enforced upon them because of the few ignorant people who just spend there lives worrying about what they could catch! Did you know that if you cooked frankferters(not sure of exact spelling) over a charcoal barbaque it gives you the same levels of the chemicals that are dangerous in cigarettes as passive smoking 20 a day for 2 years! Maybe you should focus on trying to control this? or maybe you should just not go out seeing as Thailand has huge pollution levels and is likely to add to your chance of getting lung cancer anyway!

 

Alternatively you could just go somewhere else and avoid them! We smokers have to in most of our countries to please you lot!
