Fried Insect Vendors caught with knives on Pattaya Beach

Pattaya Police arrested four Fried Insect Vendors on Pattaya Beach early on Monday Morning after a search uncovered two long knives.

Police were made aware of the men by passers-by who spotted the knives in their possession. Officers made their way to the old pier, located close to the entrance of Walking Street, just after 4.20am and confronted the four men who initially were found not to be in possession of the knives they were alleged to have been seen with moments earlier.

A search of the surrounding area uncovered the deadly weapons which the men eventually confirmed belonged to them. Police asked them why they felt the need to carry the weapons and they claimed that an earlier confrontation with a man, known only as “Ter”, left them in fear of their lives so they decided to arm themselves should he make-good his threat to return and confront the men.

Despite the story the men were arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station, along with their Fried Insect Carts, where they were charged with possession of a deadly weapon in a public place.
