A 39-year-old German man died instantly in a motorcycle crash in Jomtien in the early morning darkness. Witnesses said he was speeding and driving erratically on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle before the crash. The man was a long-time Pattaya resident and belonged to a local Harley biker club.

PATTAYA – November 3, 2012 [PDN]; at 3:50 a.m., a report of a fatal motorcycle accident involving a foreigner was received by Pol. Lt. Col. Attharos Krongrach, investigation officer, Pattaya police station. He rushed to inspect the scene with a police team and the rescue officer of Sawangboribul Pattaya foundation.

The incident occurred at Soi 9, second Jomtien road, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. At the scene, police found the severely-damaged motorcycle lying on the road, a black Harley-Davidson 750 cc model LA VIDA LOCA, unattached license plate.

pdn33.jpgThe victim’s body was found about 50 meters from the wrecked chopper. He was identified as Mr. Michael Lambauer, age 39, nationality German. He had died instantly from the impact with a fractured skull, and his intestines had spilled out from his torso.

He was wearing black jeans and leather shoes, and a black leather jacket. On the back of his jacket was the name of a local Harley-Davidson motorcycle club. Mr. Michael reportedly lived in Pattaya many years and worked at the Lomatec pool company.

Witnesses told police that Mr. Michael was driving his motorcycle erratically at a high speed and appeared to be drunk. When he approached a curve in the road, he lost control of his motorcycle, which overturned. His body flew off the bike and hit an electric pole, killing him instantly.

After investigating and inspecting the scene, the police made daily notes for evidence. For the cause of the accident, police assumed that the victim was drunk or perhaps racing with others at high speeds. So his careless or impetuous actions resulted in his death.

The police sent the body to Banglamung hospital and will inform the German embassy of his death.

Sad way to go.. Not nice to be killed by bike on high speed... Disappointed with Thai media for showing pictures on public, Like they always do to Farangs being killed in Thailand. His family would be very upset. RIP Mr Michael Lambauer +

I'm not a Harley rider, never owned one, but the bike is not a 750cc although Harley did make on. The bike is a Shovel Head which in stock form was a 74 cu in engine also 1200cc. It was the big Harley at the time and the last year for it was 1983 I think. 1984 was the year the Evolution came out. The 750 Harley was called an XR750 and was a flat tracker or dirt track bike and was the one Evil Knevil would use in his jumps. It was distinctive as both exhausts exited the left side of the bike and the right side had 2 forward facing mikuni carbs.

Sad to hear, someone ends his life this way in a land, where you have all reasons to enjoy it.

Does anyone know hom closer? Did he perhaps left behind wife/GF/ with kids?

The narrator could have spared us the gory details I understand he was trying to get the message home by creating a shock effect that's what happens if you drink and drive or ride but could have left out the intestines spilling out bit ,anyway that's just my opinion
