Just wondering if anyone on the board knows if Greg still owns the place? I tried to book a room but they now require 20% deposit. It would also be good to know if the Aussie breakfast is still just as good.

Cheers

As far as I'm aware he still owns it but it is up for sale. He was there maybe once during my stay but I think he stays more at his home rather than the bar now.

And it was always a 20% deposit, just checked a few emails and they all say 20%.

He was there two weeks ago - so still around. Waiting for a good buyer. And, importantly, Aussie breakfast still right up to standard.

I had the Aussie breakfast today. It was quite good at 100B. Although friends who are better food connoisseurs than myself say Irish Rovers is much better, although more expensive.

The bar still has the for sale sign hanging on it.

try the big Aussie breakfast, double egg, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, beans, coffee and orange juice...160 baht well worth it!

The one I got today wasn't the big Aussie but maybe the standard Aussie. Number 1 on the menu. egg, bacon, sausage, hash-brown, beans, tomato, toast and coffee and orange juice. 99 or 100B so good value. My only complaints would be it wasn't cooked to order. Everything was luke warm so obviously sitting in a warmer somewhere. On the plus side it was delivered quickly. Would I go back? - doubtful. I would try somewhere else first.

He was still there when I booked my room a few weeks ago. Just a heads up though very noisy if u plan on doing any sleeping. Lots of new go go's on the street now.

Was there in September saw Greg then. I tried the Aussie breakfast and also had breakfast at the Irish rovers across the road. They were both comparable with a few differences etc.
