Hi. I'm visiting Pattaya for a week in late November and am trying to find a budget hotel.

I found these 2 places, Apex hotel and Bliss Mansion, and was wondering which hotel to choose... They are both available for the dates I stay, and the daily rates are 700 baht for Apex and 625 baht for Bliss.

What I do in Pattaya is that I wake up late and have brunch, enjoy beer at some beer bar or on the beach, have some massage, and go to Walking Street to find a lady in the evening.

If anyone has stayed either place, please let me know its pros and cons. If you have stayed both hotels, please let me know the comparisons.

Dont go to the apex,i have stayed there in the past and in all honesty it wasnt up to much then, but from what i can gather there hasnt been any great improvement and it has become a bit neglected, only thing going for it is that it has a pretty good all you can eat buffet(breakfast and evening),theres a lot better places to stay for your budget,i`ve never stayed at bliss mansion so cant comment on that, maybe use the search function and see what it comes up with.

vimto, thank you for your comment. I will not choose Apex, then. I was interested at first because someone wrote a blog article and it said it was 600 baht, but Apex has raised their rate and now it's 700... I was still interested because the location is very good.

I'm not sure if anyone has stayed at Bliss, but it seems a nice place, so I will probably try Bliss for this trip. Bliss is very close to Apex, so I can always drop by for their all you can eat meals. :)

Nobody likes Apex, huh? I'm so glad I asked before deciding. :)

I will try this Bliss Mansion for a couple nights and see if I like it. If I don't like it, I will try Ice Inn as Baja suggested.

I booked the Apex once and checked out without staying...the room had a terrible smell. I have stayed in many places in Pattaya. You can get good guesthouse accommoation from 500 baht. A good place to stay is Valentines in Soi Lenkee which is off Soi Boaukow...500 per night and good quality. Also does a great bacon and egg brekky for 100 baht.

Another place I have stayed regularly is Intown Holiday, a 10 storey hotel in soi 11 (also known as Soi Honey) 700 baht per night with roof top pool. Big rooms and big beds. Popular place and regularly booked out.

Enjoy your trip

I have stayed at apex and I like it.

There is a new ond old section, try for new section.

Air, fridge safe hot water, bed , towels and lights.

If it smells spend 50 baht air freshner that will fix it.

( if you want a bad hotel go to victiroa mansion, j nakpil st. Manila. I had a room and in my wooden bed was a full blown ants nest, now thats a room with problems)

All good. And good luck. Wherever you stay

bolton69, your comment means nothing unless you share us the reason why you didn't like them...

I checked in at Bliss last night. I like this place so far. The email confirmation which I didn't show them said it was 625B/night, but I was only charged 540B/night when checked in. For 540B, it is a great place. See pros and cons below:

Pros:

Cheap (540B per night)

Good location

Large enough for you and your lady

Reasonable cleanliness except the bathroom walls

Safebox in the room

Private balcony

Large fridge

No deposit required

Cons:

The building is old

Wi-fi is 200B per day (Just get a 3G SIM. I should have gotten more bandwidth, though...)

Bathroom walls are moldy (I don't care but it maybe embarrassing when you bring a lady)

No bathroom amenities (You need to get your own soap and shampoo. I got 2 rolls of toilet paper)

You hear Karaoke noise until 3-4 AM (I have ear plugs so it isn't a big deal)
