A 60 year old government worker was killed in a hit-and-run road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip on Friday Afternoon. The crash occurred in front of Soi 37 and resulted in the death of Khun Juti who was employed by the Khate Udomsuk Municipality in Sattahip District. Witnesses confirmed he was struck by a cement truck as he drove his motorbike along the carriageway and the truck failed to stop at the scene.  The victim’s distraught wife soon arrived at the scene and confirmed the body was that of her Husband. We can report that the Cement Truck driver did give himself up to Police later on Friday. Khun Samrouy aged 58 claimed he panicked when he struck the motorbike and left the scene in fear of reprisals. He was charged with dangerous driving causing death, after it was determined he was driving at a high rate of speed and he was bailed pending a Court appearance.
