Devious Sri Racha Drug Dealer Fakes His Disability

Police arrested a 29-year-old drug dealer who was pretending to be handicapped to provide a cover for his activities. He confessed to selling drugs to Sri Racha teens for a long time. Police also arrested another suspicious character nearby who was found to be carrying drugs.

SRI RACHA – October 17, 2012 [PDN]: at 10:30 p.m., a 29-year-old drug dealer was arrested by Pol. Lt. Col. Sirisak Wongwiwat, the prevention and suppression inspector of Sri Racha provincial police; along with Pol. Sen. Serg. Maj. Luckkiat Padna; and Special Operations forces from Phadang.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Winai Gosem, age 29. Evidence seized by police included 10 meth tablets and four 100-baht banknotes used in the police sting operation. Mr. Winai was arrested at Wang Hin Temple, soi 1, Surasak, Sri Racha.

Meanwhile, police also noticed a suspicious looking man roaming in soi Kongsanor. They asked to search him and found 10 meth tablets, so they arrested him too. He was identified as Mr. Suttipong Boonkong, age 18.

Police began their investigation of Mr. Winai after they were informed by an undercover agent that Mr. Winai had been selling drugs to teenagers in the Wang Hin Temple area. He also pretended to have a handicap.

Police planned a scheme to entrap him, and photographed Thai banknotes for use in an entrapment drug purchase. Then the police sent an agent to Mr. Winai to arrange to buy 2 meth tablets. Police officers then staked out hiding places nearby where the drug deal was going to take place.

When Mr. Winai showed up, he acted like he was handicapped as he gave the meth to the agent. The concealed officers then showed themselves to arrest the suspect. But when he realized it was a drug bust, Mr. Winai pretended to go into convulsions and acted like he was insane.

But then the police conducted a body search on Mr. Winai and found 8 more meth tablets. So Mr. Winai admitted to his crimes as the police took photographs of the evidence and arrested him.

During questioning, Mr. Winai confessed that he had been selling meth pills to neighborhood teenagers for a long time. But lately the police had become more strict about people selling drugs, and were intensifying their efforts to conduct sweeps of drug dealers. So Mr. Winai thought of a way to fool people, by pretending he had a handicap, so no one would suspect he was really selling drugs. But finally he got arrested.

The police charged Mr. Winai with possession of a Type-1 drug (methamphetamines) and sent him to the detective team to prosecute.
