I've just read that there will be lots of construction around PBR. I've stayed there on my lost two trips and really enjoyed it. Loved the location as well. I also just payed cash on my arrival and didn't have to worry about credit card details over the net. Really wanted to stay there again and they are offering discounts apparemntly just over 1000 baht a night for rooms which usually costs 1400baht. Since i'm guessing the noise will be in the day and not too early in the morning maybe i will still book there but if not i will need alternatives.

My list of requirements isn't too much

Cost-1550 baht or less a night

Location- Central Pattaya

Swimming Pool

Guest Friendly (no joiner fees)

Clean decent rooms

Friendly staff like PBR

Pay in cash as i don't have a credit card (i do have an eftpos card with mastercard on it.

If anyone has any experience in any hotels meeting those requirements and could recommend them. Or hopefully the noise at PBR won't be too bad and i can stay there again.anyone staying there at the moment?

Replies would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm in the same position as you. I've got bookings over the next few months, starting next week, and as I've always stayed at the the PBR since it opened I'm loathed to change hotels. But early morning pile driving or other drilling will necessitate a move.

I will be looking at the hotels on soi 13 (Sandy Springs, Dynasty etc.) but will only move if I have to!

May be not exactly in the same area but very convenient to move around and meeting all your requirements:

BJ Holiday Lodge, on Soi 3. Easy to move around with Bath Bus. Got swimming pool (a nice and decent size one), guest friendly, nice staff (owner is an american guy, Bill Jones or BJ, part of Pattaya history as Soi BJ is named after him - his familly runs the hotel), Decent clean room and very quiet (you can sleep like a baby!). Usually, I have booked just by sending an e-mail request and they answer very promptly. I never had to pay anything before hand to secure the booking. Current room price is 1200B/night. Nice restaurant in the hotel (very good value for money), breakfast was at 90B last time. I have already booked for my Nov trip.

Tripadvisor photos are accurate if you want to have an idea of the room and the pool.

Location with Pattayaphotoguide.
