This sounds like a great excuse for thousands of men to sneak over to Thailand for a week or so.

I have not seen one of those threads for a while actually.

Better than suddenly taking up and interest in golf. :)

With Red Bulls billionaire founder being Thai & also a close friend of Bernie (F1 Supremo) you might just be seeing those pigs flying

Yea unfortunately he is dead, the new SIN deal pretty well means the east asia calendar is sown up. however money talks so you never now no matter how much money Bernie makes he always wants more, OCD.

New Jersey has just been struck off, so there is a new space on the grid, so maybe, and a very big maybe.

New jersey has been postponed for a year due to construction delays, so not really struck off.

Cant possibly see Bangkok stepping in and be ready for a race in 2013, especially with zero construction.

Saying that, after going to this years Singapore GP, I'd love to see Thailand join the calender.

It may happen but not in 2014. They've talked about this for awhile now but there has been no action. November 1st the World Cup of futsal starts in Bangkok. Bangkok one the bid, saying that a brand new stadium would be built for this event. The stadium is still being built and will not be ready for the Futsal World Cup. That says a lot about being able to host a top notch world class sporting event.

Red Bull did race their car around Ratchadamri last year in demo for all the Thais. They even had an audience with King and showed him the car. The driver explained the details of the car during this audience. It was a big event and the pictures of the King with car were in all the papers.

I went to my first Grand Prix in Singapore this year and it was a blast. A race in BKK sounds brilliant to me if BKK can pull it off, but as everyone says, running an F1 Grand Prix in BKK is not going to be easy. Singapore is one of the most organized places on earth, but the race shuts down traffic in downtown for almost a week. Hard to imagine what BKK would be like during a Grand Prix.

Given the fiasco that is the construction of the Futsal stadium in BKK for championship events I hate to think of the balls-up the thais could make of a formula one race.

Read Bernie has Bkk includedi in the 2015 F1 calender for a night time street race. Wonder what the odds are on Tuk-Tuks being on pole?
