Posted this in sports section though it could go in off topic. I watched the disgraceful scenes in the Serbia v England under 21 game last night and the systematic racial abuse of Danny Rose. In my opinion Serbia and it's nasty litte bunch of tin pot Nazis should be thrown out of International football until such time as they remove this filth from the game. Danny finally snapped at the end and kicked out at a football...not a person I might add, and received a straight red card. If UEFA have any decency they will rescind that immediately. The lad is only human.

If the same thing had happened in England we would be facing years out of competition. It's time to get tough FIFA. Throw out half of eastern europe from competition if necessary but stop this disgrace.

it could be Danny Rose actually received a second yellow the pictures are not clear which would leave him no grounds for appeal...even more disgusting. So how do you react if you are a black guy and face monkey chants all night long from ignorant bone headed thugs? Not just from the terraces either but from the F**ing Serbian officials and bench!! This poor lad is under 21 what is he supposed to do?? I thought it was amazing he didn't snap earlier. Some guys would have ripped a face off or walked off the pitch and not returned. But FIFA you can rest assured will do nothing.

I doubt the team will receive a ban of any kind. Most likely a fine. Ironically I think Russia or someone during the Euros were fined for racist chanting and the fine itself turned out to be less than the fine Niclas Bendtner got for wearing a BetFred branded pair of boxers. Go figure.

If they do nothing or impose a small fine FIFA will be sending the clear message that racism is acceptable, and we will get a situation where black players refuse to travel to those countries, and who can blame them? Utterly deplorable and despicable behaviour.

I just read about that. There is no place in sports for that type of behavior. I'm not up on all the RULES in that league but I would think some suspensions should be forthcoming.

Maybe it has been passed to them as it was played in Europe.. .

Yes it is disgusting and should not happen, but if you are a proffesional footballer, you should have to accept that in countries like that, racism DOES exist and if he is prepared to take the 1 million pounds a month he earns for playing football, then he should learn to take the racist abuse that goes with it in some countries. Its not as though it happens every week, its once every sheffield flood, in my opinion, he should be able to take it and if he cant take it, he should give up his 1 million quid a month job kicking a football about and go and work in a factory for a grande a month instead!!!

You may be referring to my off topic posts in the past about uncontrolled immigration into my country which is an entirely different subject. That wouldn't make me a racist in any way shape or form. I get along with most people. That is an economic nightmare caused by the EU and not their fault for wanting a better life. It has nothing to do with race or skin colour.

Fair enough mate we can't agree on everything. I don't think racist abuse is ever acceptable no matter how much you earn, even though I agree most of our Premier league players are overpaid kids, judging by some of their antics here.

The ridiculous amount of money they get paid surely has to off set the fact that every now and again (in countries like serbia) you are gonna get verbally/racially abused, just like he does every time he plays away in the prem league no doubt (not racially but certainly verbally), players get shouted at and sworn at every week, so why doesnt he react when someone calls him a cunt etc? If I was getting paid hundreds of thousands of pounds a week (cant even comprehend it), I would realize that I have to take the rough with the smooth. You could call me whatever you like EVERY SINGLE DAY if I was to earn that sort of money trust me. I KNOW RACISM IS WRONG DONT GET ME WRONG, ITS DISGUSTING but the fact is, it happens sometimes in football, just like it does in my job, when I work in Scotland I often get racially abused for being English but thats another story, I just get on with it cos I expect it when I am in Glasgow. Like I said in an earlier post, if he doesnt like the facts that racism exists in some parts of the world at footy matches, HE SHOULD STOP PLAYING and take a million quid a month pay cut, SOMEHOW I DONT THINK HE IS GONNA DO THAT, so I am sorry but he should stop trying to get sympathy and get on with the job that he is paid so ridiculously to do.

Both countries are being investigated by UEFA so maybe the English are equally to blame? The captain of Serbia says it takes two to make a fight. My bet is UEFA finds the English equal in blame proportion.

I reckon they will get away with it, IF you lived in England you would know that the only people that can get done for racially abusing people in england are the english, anybody racially abusing the english get away with it because the pc brigade darent bring criminal charges to the foreigners in case it offends them or impinges on their human rights, if they did, the foreigners would call the english racist, and the vicious circle continues.

FIFA has no mettle though. The "35 years behind" cuts no ice with me. When a man is subjected to monkey chants and bananas because of the colour of his skin, a paltry fine is not the answer. A world cup ban is. That will give them 6 years to get their house in order and make an attempt to stamp it out.

Both associations have been charged for failing to control their players after the final whistle and it would be hard for either association to plead not guilty to that. Danny rose mimicked monkey chants to the crowd which potentially could of been very dangerous and was undoubtedly inflammatory. He will surely be fined. Seems harsh for the lad as he and i think Sterling were the major targets of the racism but his reaction will be frowned upon.

 

UEFA will try their hardest to sweep this under the carpet and will do little. I don't see how a ban really improves the situation either. Playing all home games to empty stadia is a better punishment. They lose their home advantage and the dills that behaved that way don't get to enjoy the match.

Unfortunately I doubt a fine or UEFA/ FIFA ban will work as its a cultural issue and needs to be addressed at a national level. Look how many years it has taken to change the attitudes of people in the UK - its not perfect but have improved over the past 30 years.

To follow on Lazio were only fined 40,000 euros when their fans recially abused Spurs black players in the Europa League game two weeks ago.

 

This is another exampe of how "seriously" UEFA take racism.
