I am aware of the difficulty in obtaining a 1st holiday visa for TG to visit UK but haven't been put off trying myself as most of the stuff I have read about agents kind of advises me not to waste my money with them although I'm almost wishing I had at least tried them 'no visa -no fee'.

The reason being the 1st application was refused on lack of proof of relationship so we provided 200 pages of whats app, Skype and emails together with dated pictures and assumed this would result in a successful 2nd application, NOPE the 2nd application was refused on a different reason my TG didn't own her own property, slightly more difficult to overcome but we applied a 3rd time with a letter from her grandmama saying she will inherit her property when she dies. REFUSED again another reason lack of my bank statements!!!! i have now sent off 6 months of very good statements and a copy of my credit file but wondering what excuse they will come up with this time?.

It seems to me they don't evaluate the application correctly otherwise all the refusal issues would be dealt with in the 1st application. I'm not sure if it is negligence or they want you to keep paying the application fee. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The big problem with asking about visas is everyone will tell you something different!

I brought my teelak over on a marriage visa and had no problems at all and later brought her kids over to join us which was a seperate application (her ex-husband had custody so we had to get them signed over before we could apply).

I'm not sure why you should be having problems getting a holiday visa. The only advice I can give is to play by the embassy RULES (no matter how frustrating that may be!) and also don't forget you have the right to appeal any refusal, dont just accept it and walk away.

good luck!

Next trip Aug 31-Sep13, theme: try more freelancers, get dirty! Note to self: TAKE MORE PHOTOS!!!

Seems strange. There's no requirement for the applicant to own property, or even to have money, if she's being sponsored. The only thing that is necessary is a 'reason for return'. Does your GF have a job? How long is she applying for?

The agents know what needs to be filed, you did not have the proper needed docs.

I would guess that there is a embassy website that would have all the info that you need.

As someone else mentioned the KEY is proof that she will return, also called "strong family ties"

or something like that !

What have you spent in filing fees VS what would a visa shope have cost ??

Some countries are easier than others, with GB and OZ 2 of the easy ones and the USA one of the hardest.

Good Luck

ok i will try to help you mate how i managed it first time, its not hard but yes a little frustrating, and i will try to make this short,

i first started talking to my lady on thailovelinks in feburary 2011

i visited her in march 2011 june 2011 november 2011 and march 2012

btw she is not a bar girl

we also got engaged in march 2012 i dont think this made any differance for visa though

in march this year we applied for a tourist visa

i sent many photos of us together with dates on in all my trips i spent with her

i sent my bank statments, savings etc to prove i could support her

sent prove of house i own with utility bills

got a letter from my company where i work how long i have worked there etc

i wrote a long letter to say how we meet and how many times i have visit her etc etc

all so sent print out of skype and msn conversations we had same as u have

i have sent money to help her and had reciepts to show them of prove

she supplied information where she worked

her saving etc, all though i sent her money to show in bank

she got her boss to send a letter of guarantor for her

she sent prove of house she rented where she lived with her daughter

basically she has to prove that she has a reason to return to thailand i think this is the most importand thing

also i said on visa she was only comming for a 2 month holiday i think it sounds better

but she stayed for 4 months on a 6 month visa

i go back out to thailand in november for 3 months and were getting married

next visa i will apply for will be 2 year visa

hope this helps you in future application sorry for bad spelling

It could be because I heard The Canadain Embassy is now sharing floor space with The UK embassy? The Cdn Embassy staff are fucking baffoons.Sorry bud,but I doubt wether you will get a visa after being turned down ,more than once. Are you dealing with Thais or Falangs at The Embassy?

hi guys thanks for your posts im dealing with the UK embassy i have provided pictures from 3 trips, bank statements, western union slips, my credit file, pictures of my home, transcripts of Skype, email, whats app over 300 pages of transcript but every time they come up with a different excuse. It costs 4000 each application which is not so bad but add to that her day off work, and expenses in getting to BKK etc its about 6000 a time, again not a great deal but I wish they would put up all the objections in one go. She works with her grandmother at a home shop and has only a small income, no siblings and no property of her own but this was not the reason for the last refusal. We have even confirmed we will travel back together in Jan/Feb depending on visa expiry date we have asked for a 3 month stay. At the embassy she deals with a thai then they send it off to British Embassy. I wasn't aware we could appeal if anybody has info on this i would be grateful Thanks Again

No Problems with getting the gf into australia first as long as you fill out the required 48r 3 month tourist visa and provide a letter supporting her application also indicating you will provide for her during her stay and fill out a Stat Dec declaring she will not work and you g/tee her return Proof off your income then the Visa usually takes a week to be approved no requiremant for her to prove her income you could even put down she works on the family farm guess its different from country to country good luck guys

If you feel that they haven't processed the application correctly you can apply for an administrative review:

Quote from the UK Border agency's website:

What is administrative review?

If you think that we have made an error in refusing your visa application under the points-based system, you can ask us to check our decision. This is an administrative review. The review will, for example, look at whether your claimed points were correctly assessed.

The administrative review is free of charge.

You must ask for an administrative review no more than 28 days after the date when you receive the refusal notice (GV51). When we send you the refusal notice, we will also send you:

  • an administrative review request notice
  • administrative review request notice guidance notes

You can also download these documents from the right side of this page.

You must complete the request notice in full, and send it to the address stated on the request notice.

You must not send any additional documents such as your passport, travel document or supporting documents. If we overturn our refusal decision, we will ask you to send in your passport or travel document.

The administrative review will be completed within 28 days. You will be notified of the result in writing. To ensure that the review is independent, the review result may not be sent from the post that made the original decision.

You may request only 1 administrative review per refusal decision. If you make any further requests for the same refusal decision, wewill not accept them and will return them to you.

If you are already in the UK, you cannot apply for an administrative review.

Sorry to hear that your GF has got refusal for a few times. Many farangs always neglect one thing which is very important in a visa application i.e. to tell more about the background of their GF. From what you have listed above, it seems that no information or documentation had been given to the British Embassy about (i) how long you have met her; (ii) what's your GF occupation at the time you met her; (iii) what's her present occupation; (iv) whether she has any child (v) the reason for the holiday and the reasons for her to come back to Thailand. In your case, a well-prepared letter setting out all these information from you to the Embassy should help a lot even though you can't produce supporting document for each point or issue.

I have more than 8 years' experience in this field. The 1st application is the most important one. If you have got all required information and documents submitted in the 1st application, it will be easier to get the visa rather than in the subsequent applications. In the eyes of the Britiish Embassy, they don't care how many times you have made the applications because they don't give sympathy easily.

Good luck to the latest visa application.

If she previously worked, or still works, in a bar I wouldn't mention this. There is no requirement that I'm aware of to list previous occupations anyway. Plenty of ex-bargirls have successfully got visas (including my ex) but I wouldn't draw attention to the fact.

I think you will find the Administrative Reviews or appeals are for settlement visa,s not for holiday visas, the old system for fiancee, marriage, working etc used a point system, where you were required to obtain a certain amount of points, in different categories to obtain a visa. I had no problem in getting a a Holiday visa and there are many topics on here with the requirements and advice needed, With a bit of common sense and all the paperwork you dont need to use an Agent, But I also have a friend that as been turned down twice, for different reasons, once he sorted the first one out, This will be is 3rd attempt so we will soon see, I am also applying for a fiancee visa, for her and son to return in January next year so will keep you updated on that and the requirements

Right to appeal a VV NO

My TG applied and got on first ask, why who knows it did suprise me but we had known each other for if i remember right more than a year before we applied.

Also showed that we had travelled around Thailand together lot of trips not only touristy things , visit to her home etc lots of photo's ( not bars)

I am not saying that there is such a requirement that you have to mention the previous occupation of TG. Most of the cases that I have done involve bar girls and were successful. It's because the disclosure of their occupations as waitresses of bars and/or restaurants would not make them disqualitifed for getting the tourist visa. In some cases, the TGs are still in 20s or 30s and they are not working. If you only tell the Embassy that she is unemployed without explaining as to what she had been doing for years before she quited the job, the Embassy is more likely to refuse her visa application than in the case where you have explained as to her previous occupation and the reason why she quited the job is because she had no choice but to work in a bar for maintaining her child over the past few years but given the chance of looking after her child by the farang boyfriend who look after them well, she would not choose to work in a bar anymore.

With my experience in this field, I know very well that if the TG has now got a good job, I would not advise her to disclose her previous occupation as someone who worked in a bar before although there is no such rule in the UK Immigration RULES which disallow TGs to get a tourist visa if she has ever worked in a bar or similar entertainment places.

A good professional visa consultant must look at the merits of each case and make the right assessment.
