Obama: Romney not telling the truth

Recommended Posts

Washington - US President Barack Obama wasted little time in taking a sharp jab at Republican candidate Mitt Romney Tuesday evening, accusing his rival of making a statement about the car industry bailout that "just isn't true."

obama is really a poor debater... sorry to say but he is an actor that needs a script and if he doesn't have a teleprompter he is in trouble... if these debates show anything it is that he does not have a firm grasp of issues nor how to articulate them... I am not Democrat... I am not Republican... I believe we need a third party option... but the fact is Romney kicked Obama's butt in both debates...

LOSWORLD....wow we must be watching different debates. The President offered many specifics; Romney was whiney and vague. That is not the standard of a butt-kicking by anyone's ruler. Romney was, if anything, on the defensive.

I'd say pretty even. Niether gained much. Kind of like if nothing happened.

Just watched the post debate "round-up" and Romney smoked the Liar in charge 2 to 1

How can you say this... Obama equated a poor economy with low gasolone prices saying would you rather have a poor economy and low gasoline prices... totally ridiculous and against all economic fundamentals unless of course you are Saudi Arabia... where that one came from nobody knows... I was amazed Romney didn't jump all over it...

I have to agree with you. I watched both debates. The President had this one hands down. He might not have said everything we wanted to hear. But he gave a lot more specifics than Romney. Romney spent his time talking about his 5 point plan which I still haven't heard any specifics on. I like what he wants to do. But how is he going to do it? And I'm a republican! Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils.

I agree. I'd also like a viable 3rd party but it is what it is. If you wish to be part of the process at this time you have to choose between the two parties we have. The differences between the two isn't that stark on international politics.

On the debate I just watched it online. The only conceivable way anyone could claim Obama won that debate is if they are strongly partisan. Or to describe Romney as whiney one would also have to be blinded by partisan feelings. IMO Romney held an edge in the debate with any viewers interested reasoned debate.

As an example the Detroit bankruptcy argument where Obama claims Romney wanted to let them go bankrupt and not help them. Well duh - YES. He also described how they could restructure as many other companies have under bankruptcy law and return to business. This would NOT have cost the absurdly high number of jobs Obama claimed it would. But I suspect Obama who has no clue how business works even understands what Chapter 11 or 13 means. Or he is hopeful the voters are stupid enough to not understand it.

To me the first debate was a landslide Romney win. This one closer only until you examine the reality of their statements and their track records. Obama's biggest scores were to play to the class warfare schism that is the primary plank in his campaign. And I think the swing voters are too smart to buy that crap. I feel Obama is running scared and rightfully so.

It doesn't matter.

All that matters is that Romney/Ryan and their croneys are for the super rich.

Obama is for everyone else.

That's all you need to know.

That's all you need to ever know about conservative v. centre left parties.

One is for rich bosses; one is for people who work for a living.

It doesn't matter who the leader is, just go into the polling station and think to yourself: "am I super rich?"

If the answer is "no", then you know not to vote for the front party of the rich, whatever it calls itself.

The rest is theatre - all the mock outrage, patriotism and spin of Faux News - all that rubbish is designed to get poor people vote for the rich people's party.

Wake up.

Of course they are. The question is which organisation that takes power will best serve the interests of the majority.

We saw Romney being honest, didn't we though? When he wrote off 47% of the population "I'm not interested in those people" (who know for a fact he is out to get them).

His backers (the 1%) have only one thing in mind - "how many of the remaining people can we hoodwink to get us across the line and award ourselves tax cuts and our croney capitalist backers fat war contracts."

I hope you don't really believe what you are saying... to quote Michael Moore - "there are two parties and neither represents me".

Yes the Republicans support the rich and they will at least tell you this while the Democrates pretend they don't. There has never been an adminstration friendlier to Wall Street than the Obama gov't. and this is not from me but countless stats and facts. Please tell me who went to jail for the trillion dollar crisis and I mean of any significance not and Indian outsider or a computer geek. At least when the Savings and Loan crisis happened many went to jail and it was Clinton who repealed much of the legislation that took place after this event.

^ Yeah, but in the long run, you're better off with the Democrats than the others.

See: Affordable Health Care Act - will give 34m Americans who don't healthcare, American Recovery Act tax cuts kept the poorest workers out of poverty during the worst of the GFC, loan modification program for people under mortgage pressure, unemployment relief extensions, huge increases in education grants for poor kids ...

There are many things Democratic Party administrations do for poor people, the working poor and the middle class all the time. My point is, this is the stuff that really matters.

I do know that all politiicans are liars.

I watched the debates for a couple of hours, oh wait it was only 20 minutes, it just seemed like a couple of hours. After the 20 minutes I muted the tv. I kept hearing the same old lies or hearing both of the debaters not answering the question asked. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to the U.S.A. if either get elected. The next 20 years are going to be very difficult for most Americans regardless who gets elected.

For me and most people outside of the U.S. I really hope Obama wins this election, based on what i've seen and read the U.S. is going to be bankrupt in 2017 or even sooner, much like greece. I just have more believe in Obama saving the economy than Romney.. If the U,S. goes down China and Japan wil follow soon after that Europe and south America wich will follow, Cripple all of our spending.. Just my opinion

I have watched it and the body language of Obama seems more aggressive then his words.

I think American need a change and i know counter part isn't that good but keeping Obama in office will worst things more.

My wife is a sex object. Every time I ask for sex, she objects..

Posted (edited)

But what change? Guess romney hasn't got the answer, just hope Obama get's more time. Not that i'm a democrate or something, just hope this get's sorted soon... Anyway leaving for Patt's in the morning :) You guys have much fun debating this while i'm debating my ST :Bed_Sex:

Yup. They are politicians and if their lips are moving....... Better to research what they have done to have an idea of what they might do if (re)elected.

As to the whole rich/poor thing that's a joke. They are both funded by people with money and beholden to them. And as for helping the poor Obama has failed miserably in everything except creating MORE poor.

I see no reason to give him 4 more years to further damage the economy and increase the debt,

I wish I had confidence that Romney would/could actually fix the economy and federal governments overspending but I admit I have low expectations. I think the nation is in a hole so deep harsh times are coming.

At least if the GOP controls the WH and congress they can remove the seriously defective "Affordable Health Care Act". It might be a good idea to revamp the nations health care laws and some level of national care might be a good idea. But that turd in a hot dog roll isn't it.
