Police arrested a pregnant woman after an undercover sting operation at a Huay Yai home. The woman said she could not stop using drugs despite her pregnancy. The suspect and her husband lost their jobs after becoming addicts, so they sold drugs for income.

The case began when undercover agents told police that the suspect’s husband, identified as Mr. Somporn Phujoi or Ole, age 38, often sold and consumed drugs in his house.

So the sheriff planned to entrap the couple by buying 16 tablets of meth for 3,200 baht. Mr. Somporn then instructed his wife to ride a motorcycle to deliver the meth to the agent. But she sensed it was a police trap and got away, throwing the meth into a small corner of the lid of the drain.

But the authorities caught and arrested Mrs. Siriyakorn, and brought her to her house to conduct a search. But her husband realized the police were coming, so he escaped from the house before the authorities came.

After her arrest, Mrs. Siriyakorn confessed that she and her husband got hooked on meth, and as a result they both lost their jobs. They were short of money and soon Mrs. Siriyakorn was due to give birth. But the addict mother said she could not stop using drugs, and her addiction was too strong to make her care about the effect of drugs on her unborn child.

The police sent her to the detective team of Huai Yai police station to prosecute, and issued a warrant to arrest Mr. Somporn on charges of methamphetamine possession and selling.
