A 31-year-old Belgian man was forcibly ejected from a beer bar on Soi Buakhao for not paying his bar tab. The man was the son of the bar’s former owner, but still frequented the bar and usually made trouble. The fed-up bar owner finally called police to get rid of the obnoxious drunk.

PATTAYA – October 14, 2012 [PDN]: at 5:40 p.m., a report of a drunk foreigner making trouble at a bar was received by Pol. Capt. Wissanu Chaisuwarn, vice suppression inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi. A patrolling police force was sent to check the scene at a beer bar on soi Buakhao, moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung.

The drunk foreigner was identified as Mr. Kevin Andre Alphonse Schmidt, age 31, nationality Belgian. However, Mr. Schmidt violently resisted police attempts to bring him to the police station. A taxi motorbike driver stationed near the bar came to help police officers control Mr. Schmidt, but he fought against the motorbike driver and shoved him away.

Finally the police subdued the belligerent Belgian and took him to the jail in the police station for disorderly conduct. When they got to the police station, people who were there to do their business turned their heads to stare curiously at the commotion.

Meanwhile, witnesses in the beer bar told police that Mr. Schmidt was the son of the bar’s previous owner, who had sold the bar to the present owner. However, Mr. Schmidt still came around the bar to drink, and boasted that he was the son of the old owner, but he did not pay his bar tab. But this time the new owner of the bar could not stand the freeloading drunk any more and called the police.
