EAT WELL opposite 18 Coins ( Soi Back -Cow )

Yesterday I tried out a new Restaurant on ( Soi Back-Cow ) opposite 18 Coins Restaurant.

I checked the menu and was happy to see my favorite Chefs Salad for only 95 Baht.

But the SPECIAL of the day was Chicken Kiev - again one of my favorites from back in the U.K.

I must admit I have tried it in many places in Pattaya and it`s never been up to what I've been used too.

So I tried it.

This Restaurant "Eat Well " is part of a Nice New hotel - ( Next to SUTAR COURT ) - It features an OPEN Kitchen so you can watch the ENGLISH Chef ( John ) or the Indian Chef and Thai Chef cook for you ( Like the Japanese do in their restaurants ) all super clean.

There are three tables of 4 and about 10 seats watching the cooking being done and 6 seats overlooking the road - People watching.

They have an English newspaper to read and FREE ice water with each meal.

The Chicken Kiev was the most tastiest I have ever tasted in Thailand . it was about one and a half inches thick by five inches long - oozing with a touch of Garlic - Mouth watering.

It was served with piled up chips with Lemon and garden peas. 129 Baht - Marvelous.

Today I went back for their Chef`s Salad.

Every now and again I fancy a change and I go for a salad - my last place to eat this was DAY AND NIGHT 2 hotel - before it was 110 Baht - worth every penny - They closed the hotel down and the Restaurant moved into the ( Soi Back-Cow ) Tuesday - Friday market place .

The Chefs Salad is now 160 - Gone up 50 baht - well over priced. - I stopped going.

So back to today.

It arrived on a big triangle plate - Loads of lettuce - Fresh Ham - A big slab of Chicken cut into five strips plus a doorstop triangle of Cheese. Very well laid out.

Overall it was 9/10 - The vinaigrette was wonderful in the beginning but it was a bit over powering and smothered the lettuce....I would have liked a small bowl so I could add that taste when I wanted too - Plus you couldn't help notice they had added too much salt.

Still a wonderful meal - but I would ask for these changes when I return.

The nice thing of having an English Chef is there is no misunderstandings and he will do it as you wish.

Also on the Menu are 10 Indian dishes all for 110 Baht ( Plus rice ) That`s when the Indian Chef takes over.

Most of the Main Dishes are 250 Baht but there are many cheaper foods if you don't fancy a full meal.

I've tried it Twice and I'm looking forward to trying it many times.

See what you think.

Always said to friends there that Pattaya, in particular soi Buakow area, lacks a decent Indian- British style restaurant where you can get all your favourite currys, the like of which you get back home.

Most Indian restaurants have got terrible reviews and many sexpats say dont bother most of the time...but its Britains no1 food!!

This place sounds interesting then and slap bang oppo 18 coins which is a very popular English rest too, although the service is famously slack there, so they could do well and seems reasonably priced too for the CC brigade. :GoldenSmile1:

Yes that's the place, I popped in for a curry and they have a good choice with yellow rice and I had a coke all in for 170 baht, good bowl of nice tasting curry sauce and chicken, they have a website for the delivery, see pic

The website seems to be for something else, not the restaurant.

Lots of choice/competition in this small area of Patts which is just fine by me.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Sounds really good, will definitely check this out next time I'm back. Thanks for the info.

You have me excited as this is right next to my favorite hotel, Sutus Court. I think we have much the same taste in food as I love a good Chef's salad as well as Chcken Kiev.

Thanks for sharing your experience. If I move around, I could drop in for some goodies. Most laughed me your street soi Buakhao - Soi Back-Cow. :GoldenSmile1:

I went back to 'EAT WELL" with a Friend and we both had the Chefs Salad - I had a chat with Chef John about the vinaigrette and he put it on the side in a small bowl - and he laid off of the SALT and the Salad was perfect. 10/10 I will be back - nobody does it as good - for 95 Baht. Marvelous.

Their Specials are GREAT too - Yesterday - Cottage Pie - 129 Baht - Yummy.

What night is the Chicken Kiev on? It's one of my favourite dishes but hard to find here in Pattaya. I've looked at their menu but it doesn't list a Chicken Kiev !!

Sorry Mate, It`s on Specials and they write it up on a blackboard outside - so you just have to stroll by and be lucky - I wish it was on the Menu - I'd be there tomorrow ( I still might )

Didnt the chef from The Stag end up at Eatwell? And I think he trained Pim from Voodoo which is now closed and for sail.

This is funny because I was there about 5 days ago and there were signs for "Eat Well" and "The Coins" outside and I thought it must be 2 different restaurants. This thread explains it. I can't remember what we ate but it was great food. On a side note I ordered a taxi to bangkok from the travel desk Inside the restaurant. 1200 baht for a new minivan. Arrived early and very pleasant driver ( and wife ). Would definitely use again.
