BANGKOK, Oct 14 – Thai Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha left Bangkok on Sunday to attend the 13th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting in Brunei from October 14-17.

The meeting is expected to boost military cooperation and build security stability among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.

Bilateral and multilateral talks among army chiefs of the ten member countries will be held during the meeting.

They will discuss challenges the ASEAN bloc is facing to pave the way for constructive cooperation in line with human rights and humanitarian principles.

Examples of such cooperation are relationship development among commissioned officers, a meeting of middle and high ranking officials, and a sporting event among the ASEAN countries’ armies. (MCOT online news)
