Two teen boys on motorbikes were shot nearly 30 times by an armed rival gang but survived their injuries. The victims were part of a group of 20 teens riding back from a car fair in Laem Chabang. However, a rival gang in South Pattaya began chasing and beating them and shooting at them.

PATTAYA – October 14, 2012 [PDN]; at 1:30 a.m., a report of a shooting between teen rival gangs that severely injured two teens was received by Pol. Lt. Phallop Ringrod, Deputy Inspector, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province. He rushed to inspect the scene with a police team and the rescue officers of Sawangboribul Pattaya foundation.

The incident occurred in front of the Rock Sound shop, Thepprasit road, Moo 12, Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. At the scene, police found the two injured teenagers, “Mr. Beer (alias),” age 16, a vocational student at a technological college; and “Mr. Ball (alias),” age 17.

Both teens had multiple gunshot wounds and were bleeding heavily. Mr. Beer was shot more than 10 times, in his right arm and the right flank of his body. His friend, Mr. Ball, was shot in his back about 20 times.

The victims’ friends, male and female, were standing around them worrying. They were all teenagers in a gang of motorbike riders. The rescue officer rushed the victims to Banglamung hospital, where they were immediately treated by doctors who helped them survive their injuries.

Police questioned one of the victims’ friends, “Mr. Nu,” age 17. He told police that he and his friends in group of more than 20 people rode their motorbikes from Pattaya to the classical car fair at Tambon Laem Chabang. Afterwards, they were riding back home from the fair, and when they arrived at south Pattaya in front of Wat Thamsamakkee, they encountered a rival gang of 10 teens on motorbikes.

The rival gang then began chasing them. According to Mr. Nu, the leader of the rival gang is named “Mr. Oat,” who lives in a house in Pattaya Roongreung village, Soi Nern Plub Wan.

He said Mr. Oat veered his motorbike in front of their group to cut them off, and then he took out a gun to threaten them. Mr. Oat’s gang then began beating Mr. Nu and his friends, slightly injuring three teens. So Mr. Nu’s friends escaped on their motorbike because they were afraid of being shot.

But Mr. Oat and his gang chased the fleeing teens to Thepprasit road until they arrived in front of the Rock Sound shop. Then Mr. Oat and his friends shot Mr. Beer and Mr. Ball many times and severely injured them. After making trouble, Mr. Oat’s gang escaped on their motorbikes back to Sukhumvit Road at the entrance to Sattahip.

After hearing Mr. Nu’s testimony, police alerted the police team in the area, and also informed the Na Jomtien police station to look for and arrest the trouble-making gang of teenagers. But the police officers could not find them.

Police questioned other members of the victimized gang, and they confirmed Mr. Oat as the main troublemaker. So the police will rush to follow up to arrest Mr. Oat to prosecute further according to the law.
