Arrived in Suvarnabhumi Airport to see a big queue at immigration, remembered a comment about another immigration area about 150 mtrs further on, went there, no queue! In fact by the time my bag came out, the conveyor belt was practically full of bags as very few of the other passengers were through immigration yet, it seemed the only ones who were had come through the second immigration area.

 

Then it was time to be picked up by a Mr T taxi and whisked away, also found out about him on this forum! did the same on friday big queues at first immigration, nothing at the second ,collected baggage went down to level one got ticket for bell bus ,in my room in jomtien with in 2hrs of landing,great start to my hols.

So how to we get to the 2nd immigration is it signposted, 150 mtrs further on is a long way.

Can you see it from the1st immigration.

Does it matter which airline you are arriving on, as to which is the 1st immigration? I always fly EVA?

I arrived last Wednesday and I past the first immigration line got to the second one and just my luck it was full up too, just my luck two planes of Russians and Chinese had arrived at same time, and you got to do the snake queue thing, not the best coz a lot of them foreigners don't understand about queuing lol, so unless there is more immigration lines it's the luck of the draw.

Yes, instead of turning left to walk up to the first immigration (passport control) area, just continue walking straight ahead & you will find another walkway on your left leading up to the second immigration area.

 

I don't recall seeing any signage for this second immigration area, but it is there. The times I have used it, there weren't as many booths being manned as the first area, but the lines were far shorter & felt I got thru quicker.

The last few times I've visited with my Thai wife, we've always gone through the 'Thai' check in points, never had any hassle or objections by the immigration officer checking us through.

 

I don't know if that's normal policy, maybe it's just tolerated on account of us being married and not tourists.

That second immigration area is for business class,,, so please stop this thread.. We don't want to having to queue with economy flyers thank you

If everyone knows I doubt if it will be a fast route through Immigration for very long!!!!!!

It depends on which airline you arrive with as to which end of the terminal you arrive. Most international flights tend to dock at the western gates which means Immigration is on your left hand side. Some international flights arrive at the eastern side (normally domestic airlines, which bypass immigration) which means immigration is on your right.

It is totally a matter of luck if one is quieter than the other. Ive thought i was clever and practically ran to the 2nd hall to find it worse than the 1st....
