Qatar Air special offers

I have just booked with Qatar Air for LHR to BKK (via Doha) for next January, returning late March. Business class which cost £1713 which is a good price for a 5 star airline. I booked direct with Qatar Air. You have to be quick though as this offer runs out tomorrow I think. They have offers for economy as well. It seemed the best prices stopped at the 31st March.

The booking process via Qatar Air website is good and allows you to see clearly what connections at Doha are available and what planes will be used.

Normally fly with Qatar ex Manchester and have received at least 4 offer sales over he last 6 weeks and

not one of the sales has provided a November ticket for less than 600GBP in economy.

Cheapest economy seat on this ''3 day sale" was around £535. But of course it depends if your dates fit.

''Sale'' ends Monday.

And if you're prepared to spend lots of time in Doha. This is typical availability of Qatar's economy "promotion fares" from Manchester.

I flew Qatar business class 10+ times last year and I would not consider them 5 star. Maybe if BA is your benchmark, but they don't come close to the premier Asian airlines (think Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines).

Skytrax doesn't share your opinion .... they won the World's Best Airline Award last year as well ...

I can't say that Qatar Air is better than the 2 you mention but I think most people would consider them a 5 star airline. Anyhow I posted to advise other BM's that there were some good prices currently. £1713 is significantly cheaper than BA, Emirates, Cathay Pacific & Singapore Airlines. I have been looking for a while and Qatar's normal price is around £2800 so it's a good saving.

Many do not share Skytrax opinion...http://www2.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5337559/

I used to fly Singapore from the States, but I've switched to Qatar. I agree that it now has, on balance, the finest business class in the air and I've tried every darn carrier that I didn't already know was a complete joke. What's more, the business class lounge you use on transit in Doha is absolutely the finest lounge I've ever used anywhere.

For value for money, Oman Air biz class is a cut above the other ME airlines ... IMHO. :WhoSaw1:

Air China and Qatar should not be mentioned in the same sentence!! Its like putting Chelsea with Accrington Stanley..flown bot, Qatar 6 times, China once... go figure (Hey guitarman, I am near you!!!)

A 2-3 hour stop in Doha is quite nice. At least if you are in cattle class - it is good to get the legs stretched and also I have the silver card so I can use the silver lounge - perhaps get a quick shower :)

Fly Qatar Airways 4 times for 1 year.

I fly Qatar becouse good price for ticket. But my opinion - Qatar dont deserve 5 stars. Flight from Moscow to Doxa and Doxa to Moscow very uncomfortable. Airbus 320-321 very small plane : (

Before I fly Emirates 1 time. And I enjoy more my air trip than Qatar.

But anyway I prefer Qatar. Becouse have gold card and have too much privileges with her.

This time I stay in Silver Lounge and wait my plane 8 hours. Oryx more, more better than silver. Becouse dont have place for sleep. only armchair and table you can supply together and sleep.

I got China Airlines business class, AMS to BKK, for £1130 through ebookers, out 7 Dec back 10 Jan. I know they are not Qatar or Singapore standard but that is a good deal.
