A 38 year old motorcyclist was killed on Friday afternoon after the victim and his motorbike were run-over by a coach, on its way to pick up Russian Tourists from the Pattaya Floating Market. The accident occurred on the Sukhumvit Road, just 200 metres from the Market and resulted in the death of Khun Pairat, who was riding his bike the wrong way down the carriageway when he collided head on with the coach, which sustained serious front-end damage as the coach driver attempted evasive action to avoid the collision and slammed the empty coach into a concrete pylon at the side of the road. The driver, Khun Tawin aged 39 who works for the OA Transport Company, was remarkably uninjured, despite the severity of the impact. He confirmed witness statements that the bike was travelling at a high rate of speed, against the flow of traffic and failed to see the coach, which was slowing down as it approached the market. The coach driver was detained by Police for a time but later released without charge.
