The body of a local fisherman was recovered from the sea, close to a fishing port in North Pattaya on Thursday afternoon. Police and rescue services were called to the Port at the end of Soi 12 off the Naklua Road and inspected the body of the man, who was named by locals as Khun Chai, thought to be aged around 30 to 35. He was wearing only red underwear and his identity was confirmed by other fishermen who recognised a distinctive tiger tattoo on his chest. An initial inspection of the body was undertaken at the scene and there appeared to be no signs of any injuries to Khun Chai who was known to drink heavily on regular occasions, according to work colleagues. For now, Police do not suspect his death was suspicious and assume he got himself drunk and fell off his fishing boat into the water. He had not been seen for 2 days prior to the discovery and according to initial investigations he had been dead for no more than 2 days. A post mortem examination will take place to confirm the exact cause of death.
