Hi guys

Flying with Qatar for the first time at Christmas - Business Class. Reviews seem to be good from what I have been reading online.

Any guys on here used them?

Hoping to load up with cheap cigarettes at Doha Airport on way back though I only have 1 hour stop before flight back to London. Just enough time possibly?!

ur limit will only be 200 cigarettes, and if u want a load and are willing to go over the limit where are you gunna put them as u dont have access to your luggage in the hold

I have used QR business class a few times and have always been happy with their product and service.

Movie selection could be better though.

In Thailand money talks and I am all talk.

I've flown cattle class with Qatar, very impressed. Doha must be the worst hole in the world though, but me no have access to business lounge!

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Yeah I know limit is 200. Last time I flew Etihad and bought 800 at Abu Dhabi as £12 for 200!- put them in my cabin bag (small suitcase) I realise I could get caught but the only way would be to get a spot check at Heathrow. Willing to take the chance. All that would happen is they would be taken off me.

Just flew with them. They have some old planes and some new ones. Hope you get some of the new ones.

They are really expanding and have a backorder of 200 or so on planes.

The expansion is really showing on the airport, they really need the new airport that is finished in 2015.

They should be starting flights from Birmingham soon so looking forward to that, saves having to use emirates which seems to be going downhill fast or having to fly from Manchester or London.

With delays to the B787 orders 'soon' will become later next year

Great airline and I will use them again LHR to BKK Business Class if I spot a bargain (ie under £2000). Currently they are too dear (£2800) for my dates next year. The Business lounge at Doha is excellent if you have the time. I think I had Airbus A340 for LHR to Doha and Boeing 777 for Doha to BKK. Both excellent but the Boeing had the best seats/beds.

Also it might be worth you join their Frequent Flyer club. It costs nothing and I think that your outbound flight would qualify you for their second tier card which will give you extra baggage allowance for your return and any future flights.

^^ Thanks

I did join their frequent flyer club when I booked through the flights. Price for flights were not cheap as I am flying on the 26th December.

ive used them alot as i used to live there,, theyre not bad but on some flights a bit stingy with the booze.. if you have a long stop over in doha then go to the oryx lounge upstairs, show them your boarding passs and passport and for about 25 quid ( credit card is better) you can go inside and have unlimitted drinks (alcohol ) and food,,, otherwise its shit fast food and soft drinks in the departure lounge,,airport is quite small and boring but will be better in doha once the new airport opens..
