Ramping up the boozers for high season

It’s almost impossible to walk around the various major streets and side sois of Pattaya and now be confronted with either some new construction taking place, major renovations of existing joints, and plenty of signs advertising bars for sale.

The Nana beer bar at the lower Beach Road end of Soi 8 is one example. Further afield, right at the lower end of Walking Street, at what might be termed the Russian section, a set of beer bars are being advertised for rent. Along Soi Buakhow, just on a bend at the southern end of the narrow street are another couple of beer bars ready for the needy and downright desperate.

If you can say Khrushchev without spitting, then this could be the place for you.

Just how many of these and so many other bars around Fun Town will be up and running with new tenants or owners come mid-December is anyone’s guess. How many will still be operational under the same management a year later? The answer, unless the owner/manager has been here a while and has a personal following, is probably not many.
