We Expose War Weapons Market on Pattaya Beach Road

In Pattaya Now’s increasingly unreliable roving reporter was recently dispatched to Pattaya Beach Road, where he had heard rumours of a trade in heavy war weapons which were being sold to a bloodthirsty public under the very noses of Soi 9’s finest.

His informants had told him that mortars were being openly displayed and offered for sale, under cover of a recent "cultural fair".

Given the terrible damage these war weapons can do, we felt obliged to investigate and report back, the local print press having given this serious story a wide berth.  We wondered why. Were they complicit in it?

Just how deep did this weapons conspiracy run?

We sent our reporter to find out.

When he arrived, he quickly located the evil arms bazaar, and began aggressively quizzing the gentle Isaan couple manning the stall about their vile and bloody trade.

Somewhat shocked by his confrontational style of questioning, the old couple showed him one of the offending items (pictured), which turned out to be a harmless agricultural implement for serious pounding of a different kind to that usually associated with a barrage of mortar bombs in wartime.

Shamefaced, our hapless reporter beat a hasty retreat, under a very different barrage - of laughter and abuse from locals and stallholders along Beach Road.
