Wellington boots

Just looking over the pictures posted showing the extreme rainfall in Patts,and was wondering where to buy Wellington boots ("wellies") when in town. Any ideas? Don't want to bring any over,but would buy a cheap pair when I'm there so I don't get soaked feet when trotting to a 7-11 to get supplies,then leave them behind as they take up space and weight.

Haha...I have a vascular problem so need to wear compression socks for a few months,so would look ridiculous in crocs. The wellies would only be to hop to the shops at deluge time.I have to wear these special socks,so need footwear which will keep them dry at storm time.

The rainy season is ending so the risk of the streets flooding dramatically is also disappearing. Short sharp downpours are pretty common, but it takes a real howler before you start needing waders to get around town.

 

If you don't like the look of the weather, grab whatever you need and head for your room. If the streets really do start flooding then wellies won't help you, the water will be well above your knees .

 

If the rain sets in and you don't want to go out, you can get almost everything you need delivered by ordering through Door2Door. I use them, and the service is good.

Big C Tescos, most street markets , many cobblers simplest method take a photo of produce in wherever your staying ask room cleaner give her 300 Baht , wellies will be delivered very shortly , otherwise proceed to nearest prettiest lady show photo and say please help, you may have to ask as many as three before someone will take you shopping add some food - caution say you have to meet someone or you may never get rid of her (thats why you ask a pretty lady not recetptionist ,7/11 shop assistant)
