They have just changed schedule no you cannot buy a return ticket from them if the transfer time is less than 1.5 hours its at 1.5 hors changeover in Mumbai from Saudi . The fookin flight is there but they won't sell a ticket for it I could buy a single to Mumbai then one to Saudi but what are the risks ???.

Its a shame, I have flown many times with them and for my money, they are the finest airline in the sky.

I know Kingfisher are in dire financial straits and have cancelled the majority of services and have ongoing staff problems leading to sporadic shutdowns! I thought Jet were still OK financially.

I recently started a whiskey diet......I've lost three days already!

Yup it's kingfisher which is in trouble. Jet is absolutely fine

Cant complain about the service and they have the hottest service staff but that stop in mumbai is enough for me never to go with them again

Agreed, though at the time they were 300 quid cheaper, so I wouldn't quite say never again. :Think1:

I'm considering trying Jet Airways ( lon- bkk ) in jan . Short stopover in Mumbai each way , 90 mins or so , what were the problems ?

Personally I will not use them. I know I am like everybody else who wants the flight to be on time and if changes need to be made, they can be made with no problem. Especially for international flights.

like i said earlier, I have flown with them about 8 times in 4 years, I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM. The food is good, the hostesses are awesome, they dont scrimp on the drinks trolley, I have never flown late, they always seem to fly on time. Many people moan about the stop off in MUMBAI. i have no idea why, When you stop in MUMBAI, somebody will meet you and tell you to follow them to the "passport control" where you need to queue and get searched etc, yes its not ideal but in 8 flights, the longest I have queued up is about 25 minutes, hardly a big deal especially when the layover time is only around an hour and a half, once you are through, just have about 45 minutes to wait and off you go again. I WILL SAY AGAIN, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH DELHI OR MUMBAI AIRPORT, its no different to any other airport in my opinion. In fact, when I flew QATAR, the airport at DOHA was a hell of a lot worse, (nothing to do, only one shop for something to eat and it was majorly expensive). Go for it mate, its a brill airline.

I have flown with Jet 4 times and they are my favourite airline.

Mumbai is the worst airport I have ever seen and you will see quite a few people getting very agitated as they queue to pass through a chaotic passport control. However there is a genuine effort to get people advanced through for connecting flights and all of my flights have departed late from Mumbai as they waited for the final few to board.

In September they changed my schedule to pass through Delhi airport and the airport is a lot more organised, modern and wholly stress free.

I was thinking 90 mins stopover , less disembarking one plane, boarding the next , probably only 30-45 mins sitting around if things run on time , what can go wrong.

If i can save £100 thats 5 st's , or 4 rounds of golf , or 65 bottles of singha !

Why do you need to go through passport control? You are not entering the country, just transiting! Does that mean you need a transit visa for India?

Jet recently changed the time of my returning BOM-BKK connection, and saw nothing wrong with re-booking me onto a flight which left BOM three hours before my inbound LHR-BOM landed, so just watch out for the JetIdiots !

That said, while the security-search at BOM is a bummer, it's not a deal-breaker for me. I've flown 3 times, over the past year, with them on BKK-LHR-BKK and will continue to use them, preferably via DEL whenever I can, as it's a fully-modern airport.

The price is right, the planes are modern, although the narrow-body between India & BKK can be cramped & always runs full IME, the food is just-about acceptable, and you're allowed 30 kgs of hold-luggage on a standard ticket.

Also I myself find LHR-Terminal-4 to be much better than Terminal-3 used to be.

Happy Travels !

I've flown with Jet twice in 4 years although I last flew with them in Dec 09. I can't fault the airline but as said Mumbai airport is not that great. I did have a layover there last year when I flew with Kingfisher which was short & bearable however my 12 hour layover in Dec 09 was a nightmare.

It's a shame about Kingfisher as they were great too & their flights left LHR later in the day so arrived at Mumbai when it was virtually empty. I'd still fly Jet again (with a short layover) as there is a bar near Gate 1 where you can relax with a beer & a smoke. I say relax but they are VERY aggressive in asking for tips for themselves, and their friends, for doing next to nothing.

On balance I'd say the trip is very good value.

You don't need a Visa, but otherwise it's the full works.

Jet said I didn't have a valid Thai Visa, because they hadn't see an Extension of Stay (Retirement) before - sorted but a bit unnerving.

In the carry on baggage X-ray they came up with 2 unacceptable items which had specifically been cleared at LHR.

Telling them that just inflamed them.

I stood to lose 200 quid, so I was not happy and luckily a sympathetic stewardess had my carry on bag added to the hold luggage just in time, but it took up all of the stopover time.

Most of all, it was the obnoxious attitude of the staff running the baggage inspection and immigration line which I objected to, especially the cnuts with machine guns.

Thanks for clearing up that point. That's the main downside of breaking your journey en-route! Security has become a real PITA!

They say India is the biggest democracy bureaucracy in the world....!

I will still stick to routing via DXB with Emirates. Always had a painless experience with them.

Have used Jet many times and never s problem As for those dicks in Mumbai security, well that's another thing. I went through security and they just love the power and control. I have never met such a bunch of pricks as bad as the security staff at the X-ray baggage check.

Flew with Kingfisher via Mumbai before.Awful experience.Wanted to take my house keys off me saying they were a sharp object.Obviously i wouldnt be able to get in my house had they done it.After 20 mins of arguing about that they then said my mrs had a fake uk visa in her passport.Spent another 15 mins arguing that one.Awful place.

Flying via Delhi soon with Jet.Heard this is ok.Mumbai-never.
