While Walking Street easily dominates as the number one nightlife attraction for foreign visitors, Soi Buakhow (called by some wags for many years as ‘the English Patient’; after the movie of the same name) is probably the premier region for long-term expats and regular visitors.

As Soi Diamond is to Walking Street so, arguably, is Soi LK Metro to Soi Buakhow. Carved out in a dogleg alongLK Metro Oct 2011">side Soi Buakhow and with an entrance off Soi Diana Inn, Soi LK Metro has an eclectic collection of booze-flogging establishments as well as sleeping palaces and nosheries.

Many of the local business owners banded together in late 2010 to promote the area by way of the Soi LK Metro Association. It was a great idea and their resultant website gives a reasonable overview of what is available on the soi.

In terms of chrome pole palaces, the soi hosts the long-running and very successful Champagne go-go as well as Kiss, The Office, M*A*S*H, and Submarine. These last three are owned by the same people. A second Kiss go-go, located directly across the road from Kiss, is set to open by the end of October judging by the work going on out front.

With the popular Club Oasis go-go a mere wet g-string’s throw away at the corner of Soi Buakhow and Soi Chaiyapoon, the area continues to attract even greater numbers of punters.
