What is the best sleeping pill that you can buy in pattaya to use on the plane home please

Thank you

Ambien or Imovane.

Z tablets,zopiclone or zolpidem.

These are hypnotics...sleeping tablets, not antianxiety tablets like alprazolam and diazepam (valium, xanax).

Many pharmacies give you a yellow circular tab (5mg diazepam) or a purple oval one (alprazolam),people say they work but they are not sleeping tablets.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

The Z drugs work poorly for a lot of people. They are meant to help you fall asleep but not stay asleep.

Valium, Xanax, Ativan , all are benzodiazepenes and none are meant to help you sleep, they are for anxiety principally. Yet many boardies swear by them, perhaps a placebo effect or they are nervous flliers.

If you want a drug meant to put you to sleep and stay there for 7-8 hours, take one 1/4 mg (0.25 mg) Triazolam, trade name Halcion. That is a benzodiazepene which is actually prescribed for the purpose of sleeping.

This would be when you are trying to sleep in the daytime where you are but it is night where you are going and you need to sleep when you are nowhere near ready to. Thus you can wake up at a time near a time you would normally wake up at the point of arrival. E.g. flying transatlantic east not west.

If you've never taken anything for sleeping stay away from Alprazolam (Xanax) which is what a pharmacist may give you.

I've personally taken everything there is, as I work a rotating shift pattern but never more than 1 pill a week (usually average 4-5 pills during a 7 week shift work pattern).

Anyway, I'd recommend Imovane (Zopiclone) as opposed to Zolpidem, aka Stilnox/Ambien which I'd also avoid. Can't say that I've ever seen Imovane in Thailand though. 10mg of Temazepam may work as well which is available.

Probably the best and safest are the anti allergy/histamine tabs that contain a relatively high content of Doxylamine which are available over the counter. They work better than any prescribed sleep aid for me and if you are taking it just for the flight I'd get a few of these.

Whatever you get, do a little research so you know what you are taking and don't drink (too much) on them.

If you have no benzo tolerance then 1mg of Xanax should put you right to sleep fairly quickly, especially if you have a beer or glass of wine.

Zopiclone I bought off the internet, from Hong Kong.

Ambien I buy in Bangkok,at the Pharmacy on Sukhumvit Road, just down from the junction with Soi 22. This shop sells everything. Ambien is in blister strips of 10, not sure of price but it wasn't crazy. I bought 5 strips,so 50 tablets, will last me a few years as I only use them for long haul, and that's a lot of flights.

Pharmacy is called 22 I think, easy to find, just 30 metres down Suk from junction with Soi 22 heading towards Nana.

You can send anything home, whether it gets stopped or not is a different matter.

Must be loads of international post passing through so chances may be good, but then through an x-ray pills out of thailand may raise some eyebrows.

Guarantee best sleep you ever had:

  • 10 mg ambien (zolpidem); and
  • 1/4 of an Oxycodone (5/325) pill will give you eight hours of solid, eyes-roll-back-in-your-head-high-R.E.M.-type sleep.
  • No hangover, refreshed.

I buy the small purple 1mg ones, nowadays unless they know you in the pharmacy you have to get a prescription, but they knock me out, once on a direct flight to the UK i took one on take off and as i awoke an announcement came on saying we are now making our descent into heathrow, i was so happy, the trip was just as quick as if id been beamed up by scottie. But dont OD on them, ive made the trip from london to my home and had no memory of it, and on another occasion on returning to bangkok gone to the ATM and left my card in the machine.
